PSN is about as "free" as a graphics card when you buy a pre-built PC. Not that anyone should ever do that, god forbid.

I haven't really been doing anything with my PS3 because I started going on a Quadruple Pokemon adventure. I started files in HeartGold, Ruby, Diamond and White, and I'm switching games each time I get a badge. It's actually pretty fun.

PSN being "free" is not some special thing. Its the norm. Xbox live is out of the norm for charging. You dont buy Crysis 2 for PC and then pay another fee to unlock online, do you? Thats why I see free of charge online as normal and the way it should be. Not some special argument as to why you should buy this or that.

Also, sorry to mention this, but since you seem so stuck up about the whole live vs PSN thing, I cant help but remind you how much PSN has been having problems lately and how long ago it is that xbox live has been down.

I honestly don't care about the problems, I don't notice many. From what I've noticed, there's this and that one time where PSN was down for one night about a few months ago. I don't care, I can live on, so long as the internet or TV is available.
I never said PSN is special "cuz it's free," I'm saying that it is free and not "you pay for PSN when you buy your console." You pay for the console when you buy the console.

Been busy mainly this week, but over the easter weekend I finished Portal 2 single player and got all the trophys, as well as getting pretty far in Yakuza 4. Nearly finished it now. If Mortal Kombat comes before it's back up I guess I'll be playing that too.
