Seriously. IW, i love mw2, but you need to step up your game...(lol, no pun intended).

Ya, I do the whole hide in the rock in Afghan and wait for the Nuke but I can sympothise with those I killed due to me hating finding out someone already got in the rock before me sometimes...and same goes for some other levels.

Simple solution - switch to First Recon Preset Class and have a crapload of fun knifing them.

You see a knife kill doesn't seem to activate the glitch, plus you get the added bonus of having a more enjoyable game.

I tried it and I don't play as well, my K/D ratio is way down and I never get more than a 5 killstreak, but you know what? The game's way, way more fun like this.
Knifing does, in fact, activate the glitch.

OT: Damn, ninja'd my topic.
I didn't play MW2 today, so I'm not sure if the numbers of glitchers have risen or decreased, but I never found it to be more than a minor annoyance. Still, it does feel like the sort of thing that shouldn't be happening in a finished game designed with the multiplayer in mind.

The worst thing they could have done was ANNOUNCE that there was a freakin' glitch. Before it was announced, I had never seen it before. Tonight I played about 20 games, and there were MINIMUM 2 people doing the Javelin glitch each game. To add insult to injury they also announced you wouldn't get banned for doing it. Come freakin' on!

I haven't tried it, but what if you got a riot shield, would that protect you from the Javelin?

"The Rampancy of Glitching in MW2"

Seriously you haven't played many games then have you? Well if you think the couple of minor glitches in an otherwise very polished game is 'Rampancy of Glitching' then you haven't
fail? it has been happening a lot.... please don't make me laugh mw2 is far from polished.
Ha! I laugh in your face as you clearly have no idea.

Go and play the original Hidden and Dangerous and then you might stop with the ridiculous and frankly stupid exagerating.

Are you 8 years old?

I don't know of any glitches apart from the Javelin Glitch, which is pretty funny

I've never even HEARD of the Javelin glitch.
The Javelin Glitch involves equipping a Javelin, and semtex (and Marathon and Danger Close if you have any sense).
Hold the grenade throw button and when the Semtex click you switch back to the Javelin. Then the moment you get shot/knifed you instantly fire the Javelin on the ground killing all enemy's near you.

The Javlin glitch is only really bad in domination on smaller maps, because you can"t seem to capture a choke point without one of those fuckers comming in!

Report every glitch you see. It also helps to do a player review under "Avoid - Lack of skill".
They actually have that? Damn, I guess I better get good at the game, or I might get cited! That seems ridiculous.

It does activate. Trust me. the few times I've tried it, I played defensively, trapping the enemy in a corner until they had to knife me and.... -KABOOM!-

exploitation of mechanics created some of the deepest gameplay yet. Quakeworlds entire gameplay is now based off an unintentional movement glitch that caused movement to be much more dynamic. Stacking air units in Starcraft made some very deep and mindful tactics that would never be possible without them. Dolphin diving, prone-spam, squad switching, and C4 chucking made for some very exciting matches in BF2 and made the game overall better than after it was patched out. Strafe jumping in Quake 3 made movement much better and game flow alot better. People exploiting glitches is a fundamental example of pushing a game to its limit. And as long as dynamic combat comes from it, a solid counter is found, either through skill or style, then it is acceptable.

PUSH THE GAME BEYOND THE INTENDED LIMITS

The best games of all time were "made" or fleshed out because of this

Starcraft, quakeworld, quake 3, and Street fighter are built on glitches and stay strong to this day.

said in a post i made earlier, but seriously, there are probably reliable counters to it. There were reliable counter to C4 chucking in BF2

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3638348065270997363&ei=71YZS8_-C4fCrQKbqfDpBw&q=snarf&hl=en#

If that can be countered, and it was, still a part of the game, Then this jav shit can be countered with ease. This was early on in BF2 when people were still figuring out the game, eventually it was countered with a style shift in competitive players adopting the assualt class, and a heavier emphasis on staying apart from one another during pushes.

the javelin glitch is easily avoidable, if you see someone with a big ass rocket launcher.... shoot them from a distance (thats what guns are for) other than that glitch i havent seen any other problems and i have over a day into the game. (i play on the 360) also if you see people cheating just review them and you wont have to play with them again.

Are u people stupid? Of course there is nothing wrong with your game! Yes they are playing the right game. Glitching theyre referring to is online. Exploitation of glitches left in the ga,e...not a problem with other people playing the game...
