So tell me, am I a "real American"/"pro-American"? I live in a very small town in the Midwest with eight churches, but I'm a progressive feminist queer who votes based on hugely vet's rights. It's all very confusing to me. I need some conservative to tell me how much I love or hate my country. :crosses arms, glares at world:

Huh? I thought Palin was saying she wasn't a real American in that speech. I heartily applauded her willingness to accept that she didn't represent what this country was founded for and that the Founding Fathers wouldn't have let her near a government office.

That's exactly what I think! Why must they be mutually exclusive? To be honest, they shouldn't be mutually exclusive. That defies one of the basic principles that this country was founded on: out of many flawed or incomplete ideas can come one great idea (E Pluribus Unum).
