First off this is something happening in my life currently.
My wife runs a home daycare service through a service which provides her children.
Someone that uses her daycare happens to have a 4 year old child which is still in diapers, has maybe 20 words , and enjoys taking off their pants and running around without them.
This child was known as behind when was first accepted into the daycare , so the region does come by once a week to help with progress on this childs life. However during the past 3 months this child has been under care , the father has accused my wife of giving this child bruises around the groin area as well as making his life more difficult now that these region people come to his house once or twice a month to watch the progress as well as give advice.
This same father is the one which doesn't have a job , hasn't had a job in two years , isn't looking for one. and the only reason this child is in daycare fulltime is so he can look for a job. The mother who is 20 years older then the father works 60 plus hours a week a very low wages. The mother is in very clear denial about the problems their child faces. The Father leaves the child in a room full of toys alone while not taking child to daycare. Is the only parent that doesn't get there child ready to leave , they walk 40 minutes home and its winter, its -10 C around here.
The list goes on like the child doesn't eat from a plate , doesn't know how to use a fork or spoon , since the child is given things like a bag of chips for breakfast , the bag left on a table while the father plays a computer game in another room.
The problem i have is the local child protection services cannot get involved while the region is involved. My wife suspects this child is being abused and clearly neglected , yet since the parents let the region come by there house once or twice a month by appointment , there is nothing in place to protect this child.
Highly suggest looking up what a feral child is , to get an understanding of how bad this problem is. Although the parents house is messy and unorganized its no worse then a normal house.
What do you do , when theres nothing you can do?
