The robber/murderer scenario

Ok, you are on your computer in your house. (Wherever that may be) You hear glass breaking somewhere in the house, and voices that do not match any of your freinds or family. By natural assumption it is a robber or a killer, and you hear footsteps coming your way. Question is, how do you react? I would say you have about 15 seconds before they come in the room.

That, and I have my Soldatenmesser 08 (Swiss-military issue knife) in my pocket.

Even if it was a friend of mine, I'd kill them for breaking my window.

OT: I'd probably grab my guitar and prepare to defend myself. Also I have a knife, nearby, that I was using to pop a blood blister.

I like the halo suggestion, but honestly, seeing as I am in my kitchen right now, I would throw a shitload of knives at him/them then throw him out the window.

Well, if i'm on the computer then i'm fucked. My computer is in the dining room with only 2 ways out, one being the patio door which is locked, the other going into the corridor.

I'd probably have to run and jump through the patio door or run into the kitchen to get a knife or something, run out the back door into the garden, through the garden back door and to the phone box which is literally outside my house, to call the police.

Then i'd go to my neighbours for help.

I have a sugar cane machete in my room. Don't ask me why, I just do. I would grab that, and stand right outside my door ready to swing it down on their head when they are unaware.

Twat him with a dumbbell, it'd be heavy enough to put him out probably. I've dropped them before on my shoulder out of exhaustion, and it fucking hurts. Also, I'm right at the top of the stairs, so I could just jump him with the weight, and throw it at him afterwards so he falls down them and the weight tumbles down on top of him.

Get a weapon, stand behind a doorway, and as they approach it, state loudly and calmly that I am armed, have called the police (which is a given), and if they drop everything and leave now there does not have to be any trouble.
Then I swap over to the other side of the doorway and wait for them to come in. Because it is better to assume they will not leave, less chance of getting surprised.

Then I get murdered in my home for being a big weakling.

Grab my cellphone (if there's enough time) and jump out the window. Outside my window is the ceiling to another part of the house. From there I'd jump to the ground, go to the neighbors, and call the cops.

Non confrontation has the best survival rate, I think.
