Notice: Happy people should NOT read this thread, under any circumstances. Ever.

It may or may not be old news, but I just found this image while clicking a link-type-thing on imgur.com.

I actually started crying in the middle. It sort of reminded me of my stuffed dog, Henry, who I slept with for 10-12 years, but stopped then. Partly because I started squishing him, and then I sort of (but not fully) forgot about him. He was my best damn friend in all my elementary school years.

edit: post any sad things you have experienced due to the Internet.

What a way to kick off the new year, eh?

Reminds me about how everyone hated on Michael Jackson, calling him a pedophile and a freak right up until the day he died, and as soon as the guy died everyone was all "oh my god what a legend, we'll miss him so much, gee we loved him so much". Maybe not completely relevant but that's what it brought to mind for me anyway.

That's nice. Where's the discussion?

I'll create it for you, then.

Sad Thread: Go!

Its true what they say: You only find out how much you miss something when its taken away from you. (Something along those lines)

Yeah I remember that.

This song explains the hypocrisy.

I cried yes, but I found it hard to relate never having had a dog myself. I've had Guinea pigs, but it's hard to tell them you deepest secrets, though they are great for cuddling.

I meant for people to post other sad things, but I got caught up in something else.

Jesus, dude. I literally came to this forum looking for "The Happy Thread" (because I was in a good mood and wanted to post something) but instead ended up having a quick cry over my dog, who has been dead for a good year and a half.

How the fuck did you DO that?

Also, that was a good story, but towards the end, it devolved into regaling of the author's personal drama, which is not interesting nor relatable. Other then that, though very well done.

That made me cry :( I have a dog myself, and I had another dog in the past who passed away, so I could kind of relate, my dog was my best friend.

Can somebody explain to me how that image is sad? I don't really pick up on things like this.

Reminded me slightly of the episode of futurama where fry tries to resurrect his dog.
That's exactly what I was thinking too

Also it makes me want to go home and play with my dog (6 month old boxer puppy) instead of being at work.

A Baww thread, eh? Oh, why the hell not. Prepare to cry.

Before everything I'd just like to mention the ending of American History X. If you've watched it you know what I'm talking about.

Ha yeah what turncoats. I still thought he was all of those things after he died! Nothing to be ashamed of, dissing the dead. At least its honest.

Sorry, also sorry for having a sheltered childhood. I didn't want to post the story about my real dog.

She died of cancer when I was around four. It related too how the woman my parents got her from found her: a group of kids (read: fuckwads) were picking her up and dropping her on her stomach. The woman broke the group up, and some time later my parents got the dog. I don't remember her all that well due to aforementioned age.
