Cast Away, you know that part when Wilson floats away... every time. But in all seriousness there are miserably sad movies released every week, the difference being is that there has to be an emotional attachment to move someone to tears. This is why animal lovers will usually cry during that sort of movie, but you wouldn't expect the average joe to care unless you dress it up a bit.
When I was 8 I cried when watching Cast Away (I don't even need to tell you which scene), but since then, I've never actually cried at a movie.
Grave of the fireflies was sad, but I was already spoiled for the ending, so that didn't get me.
Strangely enough though, the scene that made me the most teary eyed during that film was when they were playing at the beach, only because I knew how bad they would have it. I've always been like that. When depressed people get sad, it's sad, sure, but when people who are so happy, becomes so miserable, it can bring me to near tears.
Another movie that made me teary eyed, but didn't make me cry, was The Girl who Leapt Through Time. The ending left me so sad that I couldn't even hear the soundtrack for about a week and not become a little blue.
This is also the reason why I haven't watched Summer Wars yet. I'm not ready for that mental torture again.
lol Up gets you going in less than a minute... thats just harsh...
i dunno realy im not much of a movie person... more into shows and stuff... but i guess im gonna go with Toy Story 3... was a little kid when i saw the first one and was in college when i saw that... it was kinda hard to watch...
Also Million Dollar Baby, Deer Hunter, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 7 pounds, Carlito's Way, One flew over the Cuckoo's nest and Forrest Gump are all sad un's for me.
But oddly, the one thing that made me cry, and I'm talking about sniffles. I'm talking about flat-out brawling.
I'm talking about Pluto, the end of the sixth volume.
Spoilers up ahead.

[http://view.thespectrum.net/series/pluto-volume-1.html?ch=Volume+06&page=194] Never in my life has I cried so damn hard at somehing. Please note that this is based off of an Astro Boy arc: The Greatest Robots in the world. God, I love this manga.
The Road isn't really sad, well it is, but it is more just a very, very depressing. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was extremely sad. Cried like a baby.
