Is it just me or are sequels being made for JUST ABOUT ANYTHING?
I mean Crank 2? WTF!?
Lake Placid 2?
Without a paddle 2?

WHY!? Why make a sequel for something that DOESNT NEED ONE?!

Anyone else know of any other really annoying sequels?

Crank 1 was the meaning of awesomeness and Jason Statham is a god! Crank 2 was a much needed sequel, just like transporter 2 and 3! hahaha

Snakes on a Train wasnt a sequel, it was a crappy rip off of the film which goes by a similar name; a cheap tactic in the hope that ill informed parents will buy said film instead of the genuine one.

I remember seeing that film in HMV once, and I was filled with a mixture of disgust and intruige. As much as Snakes of a Plane was amusing in its crapness, there's only so much of it I can take. Needless to say I didn't buy it!

I work in a cinema as an usher (hell yes love it two free tickets a week!)
And i am sick to death of brain dead films
The whole plot to crank 2 is SOMEONE stole his HEART. But at the end of crank he fell, a VERY long way. it doesnt matter if his heart lived, he needs a new skeleton. Jees. Its another way to expand a franchise.
Jason Statham is awesome.
Transporter should have only been one (the other were rubbish)
His best films are easily Snatch and Mean machine.

If i remember correctly, Crank 1 set up for a sequel. I happen to be looking forward to seeing it.

Welcome to the world of money spinning, where if something was moderately succesful the first time people will try to capitalise on that success with unnecessary seqeuals which are often worse than the first effort. Thats the way Hollywood works and I don't see it stopping anytime soon.

Sequels and remakes have basically ruined my life!

With that being said, H2 is an unnecessary sequel from an unnecessary (read stupid) remake. Rob Zombie needs to be stopped! Mike Myers will not even be wearing a mask for 75% of the movie.

Snakes on a Plane was Godly. Yeah it was stupid, yeah it was badly written and yeah, the plot was about as intelligent as a brain dead duck but come on, you're missing the big picture. At the end of the day, we all got what we paid for. Snakes. On a plane. Ain't nothing better than a film that has it's plot in the title.

I must agree though, sequels are everywhere nowadays. No ones came out with a genuinely good idea for a film since Kevin Smith (aside from clerks 2).

Companies need to make profit, so they stick to what has been commonly accepted as a cultural product.
So instead of just making all kinds of products, they stick to the most popular ones, and make an entire franchise out of them, instead of trying new formulas and risking financial losses.
