Ok, so I picked up the Milady Light Greatsword. I've heard a lot of people raving about it as one of the better weapons to come out of the DLC, but vanilla, it doesn't seem that exceptional. I got it to +24 (reticent to spend an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone on it yet,) and it's... meh? What Ashes of War or whatever do I need to put on it to make it the "wow" everybody's talking about? Yes, I've looked online, and have seen differing opinions, but I can actually engage and converse here with people whose opinions I trust; you lot should count yourselves lucky...

It can be good, but isn’t an instant *win* button like some OP stuff. Works best with Dex or Quality based scaling and leaning into talismans like Rellana’s Cameo for 45% bonus damage on the wing stance that it comes with (or 67% stacked with Shard of Alexander), Rotten Winged Sword Insignia for multi hits, or even Cragblade for poise break. Good for sword n board style guard counters too because it hits much faster and more often than a regular greatsword while also having the range of one. It’s just a really versatile weapon. Can also be cold or magic infused with good scaling on Dex.

Clearly this was more about seeing if he could build a working robot than it was expecting it to help him beat the game since modding is 1,000% easier than what he's done, and I venture to guess he's smart enough to know how to mod, but still cool to see Elden Ring continues to test people's patience and creativity as we approach its third birthday.

I was watching along with SecondWind and they called out a number of Souls things in the trailer.
Apparently this is going to be like a roguelite thing? And yeah they're gonna do a franchise mix-em-up.

It’s funny Miyazaki said there’s nothing new planned for Elden Ring after the dlc. I haven’t looked into it much but apparently it’s something he green lit for another director. It will live and die by its new combat mechanics, boss fights and especially given its co-op focus, the net code. Well, maybe it won’t be as big a deal since most of the lingering issues in FROM games have been PvP related.

Hmmm... sort of. He said no more DLC and no plans for a sequel. This is supposedly standalone and doesn't seem similar mechanically, so I can sort of forgive it.

(Still a bit misleading, mind).

I was sorta surprised, but not really lol. It’s an interesting concept within the Souls format, so even though I’m not big on co-op centric stuff I’ll keep an eye out. This could be the ultimate Soulsborne boss rush type of game, with who knows how many lore crossovers.

Can still be played solo, so that’s a plus.

ER is officially Fromsoft's most milked game i think.

If only they loved Bloodborne this much.
Main game plus one expansion and one upcoming spin-off, by a new director. Not exactly a landslide especially considering Dark Souls as a series has what, nine pieces of paid content in total. Wait, eleven including the DS1 remaster and DS2’s SotFS edition on 8th gen.

Miyazaki is especially fond of Bloodborne too, but more of it is not his call.
