The Simpsons Dresses Characters From Anime and More

<youtube=ZNGVaN8FPYw>
The latest installment of The Simpsons' "Treehouse of Horror" puts the Simpons family in an assortment of costumes.

The latest "Treehouse of Horror" episode of The Simpsons references many shows and movies as a barrage of Simpsons dress up in costumes from many other animated series.

In a clip about millions of incarnations of the Simpsons characters for marketing, claymation versions of the Simpsons family enter the house, followed by Maggie as Naruto [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/pokemon] from the titular series, Homer as Zoro from One Piece, and Marge as Rangiku from Bleach.

Afterward there are references to Tracey Ullman Show counterparts. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/adventure%20time]

The "Treehouse of Horror" episodes are Halloween specials for The Simpsons. With one airing each year, 2014's is the 25th.

The most recent crossover in The Simpsons was the "Simpsons Guy" episode, this season's premiere, a 45-minute episode featuring appearances from Family Guy characters. Okay, there's a few obscure references there but the Rangiku Matsumoto one threw me a bit.

They all looked like shit (what was that after Archer?), American Dad mixed styles a lot better when Jeff and Sinbad go through the wormhole.

As a total geek, I have to say... That was AWESOME!

I loved the variety of redesigns, though my favorites would have to be the anime (natch), Adventure Time, and LEGO versions.

And now I'm imagining Bart as Eren Jaeger going Titan and smashing Springfield Elementary... Somebody draw that.

I think that could have been part of the point, which is why Lisa said "If there can be 2 incarnations of the Simpsons, what if some evil marketing corporation made millions of others?" A jab at crappy money making spin offs perhaps?

That design was from the couch gag, French film director and animator Sylvain Chomet directed and animated in a previous episode a while back. Link [http://vimeo.com/96908790]

OT: I think it were some pretty fun references in there. What makes it extra great for me is that this anime/manga podcast I'm listening to makes several Simpsons references every week and now when The Simpsons has actually made a reference to the specific anime in question (One Piece) it is gonna make them go crazy. I'm looking forward to hearing their reactions on the next episode.

Soooo.... Maggie is Canadian?

Pretty funny, but some of the designs felt rushed.

It kinda looks like The Far Side, but I'm probably wrong.

And making Maggie another Fionna was just lazy. She should've been BMO.

The anime one would have been way funnier if Homer turned up at Flanders' house instead. It would have shown they actually know something about the source material they're referencing instead of "these are things that exist!"
