It's unfortunate that it went on WAY to long. But I can go back and watch up to season 13 and have it still entertain me.

Yes there is. I can't remember the last time I said "Hmm, you know what would be great right now? An episode of that show that should have been canceled years ago." And why is that? Because I've never said it, thought it, or anything of that nature.

Goodbye you stagnant yellow turds.

my favorite for a really long time was the pulp fiction one.
Itchy and scratchy and poochie probably had the biggest influence on me.
you should see all the simpson stuff I've collected when I was younger. I still have most of it.

There'll still be re-runs for another few years I reckon, nothing of value to us is lost actually.

It feels strange knowing this will be the final season of The Simpsons. (assuming this is true)

The Simpsons have been around before I was even born. I grew up with them. And now the show is finally ending.

Well, all good things have to come to an end. R.I.P The Simpsons. You had a nice long run. And I do mean LONG.

Alright drinks on me! About time it ended, the good way to end it was to quit while it was still good, not ... this.

I like the music choice.

OT: Assuming this isn't some sort of tabloid report and will in fact be confirmed true, then my response is much like my response to Steve Jobs' passing: Despite whatever popular opinion of you may be now, you did great things for the modern world of technology in your prime and it's truly sad that you will be gone.

It got tiring after season 20, but I figured that, despite the end of The Simpsons never appearing to happen in my LIFE, it would eventually collapse around season 23. And to think, I was only off by one number. Damn.

Ok, back on topic! Don't get me wrong at all, I liked the Simpsons up until season 20. That's when it started to get a Family Guy feeling to it.

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed The Simpsons in the past, but I think it's pretty much good news that it's going to end.
Personally, I feel embarrassed watching the newer episodes...

Oh well, better it goes out this way than any other.

Farewell, you crazy yellow bastards. I will always remember you as one of the first shows I enjoyed that wasn't trying to get me to drink milk or buy toys.

Funny thing everything you just said is true lol. Although, I'm going to with Cthulhu rising from the sunken city of R'lyeh. That explains the tsunamis right? Also dont forget Hl2 episode 3 code showing up. Ladies and gents. We are f****d!
Yeah, I specifically steered away from Cthulhu, though. I figured he get's too much attention lately... he is not the only Lovecraft old one! Also, he is one of the weakest, so I figure the end of days will be at the hands of a more competent god.

This calls for 2 simple words of pure victory.
It has been going on for 7 seasons too long.

All good things have to come to an end. There will still be reruns, I'm sure, and the DVDs for the fans. I haven't watched it in a number of years.

Well looks its time bid farewell to The Simpsons. After so many years, the show is finally coming to an end. Personally I think it had a great run, possibly the most succesful in the television history. Even though the quality of the episodes has been rather dull recently, there is no denying that every single one of us enjoys an occasional episode of The Simpsons.

So, Escapist, do you have a favourite episode you would like to share? Or perhaps any thoughts on the whole thing?

My favourite episode is the one where Homer recalls finding Mr Smither's senior corpse in the well.
