The third Treehouse of Horror episode. In my opinion, it has one of Homer's funniest lines to date, and it cracks me up every time I hear it.

You Only Move Twice or The Springfield Files for me, too. Their version of Mulder is brilliant.

I'm going to sound sad. But the Michael Jackson episode. Loved it, brought tears to my eyes. And not it wasn't because of Michael Jackson, it was the message that he said and the "motto" behind the episode.

Hard to pick.

For sheer silliness, "Homer the Vigilante", driving home just how dumb Springfield's people are.
Jimbo: You let me down, man! Now I don't believe in nothin' no more! I'm goin' to law school!
Homer: NOOOOOOO!

Crowd: Flanders! Flanders!
Flanders: Well, I'm not really much of a leader.
Crowd: Someone else! Someone else!
Homer: I'm someone else!
Lenny: He's right!
Crowd: Homer! Homer!

For actual meaningful social commentary, "Seperate Vocations", perhaps better known as the Career Aptitude Test episode. Virtually every cartoon show involving kids going to school has copied its ridiculousness to an extent afterwards.

Planet Simpson (a book) declared "Last Exit to Springfield" (aka the 'Strike Episode') to be the best for various reasons.

Marge in Chains, Season 4.

Lionel Hutz: Now don't you worry, Mrs. Simpson, I... uh-oh. We've drawn Judge Snyder.
Marge: Is that bad?
Lionel Hutz: Well, he's had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog.
Marge: You did?
Lionel Hutz: Well, replace the word "kinda" with the word "repeatedly," and the word "dog" with "son."

Classic!

I can't decide!

Maybe the one about the trillion dollar bill.

Remember Homer taking out the agents arresting Burns, then he puts of their hand of the other guy's ass? HOLY SHIT THAT WAS HILARIOUS.

And also:

Castro: "Ehh they ain't so bad. They named a street after me in San Francisco."

*whispers*

Castro: "It's full of what!?"

one of my old co-workers has a theory they made the whole episode just for the Dr Saius song

My favorite episode is when Homer Simpson believes he saw an Alien when in fact it was just a drugged up Mr Burns. Not too sure what the name of the episode was >_<

He is walking in the dark and creepy music starts to play when all f a sudden a bus with the "Philharmonic orchestra" drives past :D
