We all remember when the original Sims came out. I know I do. I was hooked on it for quite a long time on and off. Then the Sims 2 came outand we've been given a selection of re-makes of the same expansion packs from the original game(albiet with new titles, on holiday becomesbon voyage, unleashed becomes pets etc etc).

I wasn't expecting the gameplay to change a massive amount, after all,why fix something that's not broken? But the Sims 3 doesn't really bring anything new to the table. Don't get me wrong the extra customisability options are nice(although I don't know about anything else, but all my characters seem to look the same? But that may just beme not really spending long making them).

The "live neighborhood" is nice, 2 less loading screens! The part time jobs, again i like what they've done there. The character traits, well,is it really new? I mean, we had similar in the other sims where you could adjust a Sims personality, true this is easier and more precisebut still.

The graphics are very similar to the Sims 2, although slightly smoother and now with shadows(nice, but nearly all games have shadows now. Singles 2 had shadows long before the Sims)

It's a good game, but I wouldn't recommend upgrading from Sims 2 just yet, expecially if you have most or all of the expansion packs.

However, if you are new to the Sims then the Sims 3 is deffiently the best one yet! Although expect about 10 expansion packs priced at £19.99to be released along with stuff packs and spin offs. Ouch!

You can find more reviews by me on Gamespot and IGN. I'm not very professional about them but more just like to have my opinion on games heard really :) Hope you all like, would value constructive feedback.

Nice? What do you mean? What would you have brought to the table?

What's good about it? How about an anecdote?

The character traits, well,is it really new? I mean, we had similar in the other sims where youcould adjust a Sims personality, true this is easier and more precisebut still.
But still... what? It's still not really a big enough departure from the previous to warrant a whole new game?

The graphics are very similar to the Sims 2, although slightly smootherand now with shadows(nice, but nearly all games have shadows now.Singles 2 had shadows long before the Sims)
So what are they like if you don't compare them to the previous titles? Cartoony? Realistic?

Good review, but I think you need to elaborate more, try and think what a first-timer will be looking for when they are buying this game, and address those thoughts.

But hey, I don't review, like, ever. So feel free to disregard this opinion.

Oh, by the way, Welcome to the escapist.
