I'm guessing by now we've all heard of the Snuggie, the "blanket with sleeves" that totally isn't just a back-to-front robe. But now the product is going even further, and is offering a version for dogs [http://www.snuggiefordogs.com].

That's right, I'm not joking here. You can now buy a Snuggie for your dog.

Something tells me this is going a little bit too far, although the false enthusiasm in the ad on the page is just a little bit hilarious. Your thoughts on the new version, and perhaps what radical new Snuggie design you'd like to see next?

I want to make a statement about the Snuggie being an example of capitalism at its worst, but then I have to think about the guy who thought of the idea of making a zipperless coat out of blanket fabric and all the money he is rolling around in.

How I envy that guy.

Oh god... not the damn snuggies again...

This has officially stopped being funny to me [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h05ZQ7WHw8Y]... I guess the other 12 parodies didn't help either.

Yay, now my dog can look as ridiculous as I am, as well as being able to enjoy a snack while keeping warm.

Your avatar explains my reaction perfectly.

...I feel slightly like the guy in your avatar. Although the Internet shall probably not be deprived of Snuggie-based humour for a while.

Whenever I see these products on TV I always wonder how they can possibly making enough money to keep running the same adds over and over again.

No, there is only the Slanket! This "Snuggie" you refer to fails to live up to the quality that was the Slanket... and they killed it. The bastards...

And now for a more serious thought: Yay? I hear you can buy a better one at Brookstone, it's supposed to be very soft. Granted more expensive, but hey... it's Brookstone, not much you can do there.

Man I want a snuggie.

Also, snuggies for dogs is possibly the greatest idea of your, or my, lifetime, JC. Don't be down on the snuggie. The snuggie loves you more than your parents and friends combined. The snuggie is your friend.
I had a friend like that once. I wish he could have come to my party and had cake but he was burned to ashes in the bowels of the Aperture Science Enrichment Center.

Man, there was a guy walking around Uni the other day wearing one. He went to lectures, tutorials, even to the bar wearing this Snuggie. I couldn't work out whether it was the best or worst thing I'd ever seen.

This thing is so stupid. You'd be warmer in a sweater and thermal pants.

Honestly, just put a fuckin blanket on for christs sake

Yeah, if it's not Snuggies for dogs, it's slutty Halloween costumes for dogs. These people shouldn't be allowed to have pets.

Apparently the Snuggie has sold over 4 million units. At $19.95 each, that's $79.8 million in revenue. Not bad for a novelty product.

PETA's gonna have a word with them about this. Them, and any self-respecting human being that brings their animal into public. PETA is rather insane.

But this seriously pisses me off. This was a White-Elephant grab bag gift last Christmas, the kinda thing that should not be a successful or useful product. It's not the fault of the person who brought it so much as those damn "inventors" who take a backwards robe and market it.
