Christopher Franke - Sleeping in Light (sans dialogue of course), but only if I really do something magnificent in my life

For a normal funeral

Stan Bush - The Touch, something that epitomised my growing up and the music that saw Optimus Prime's finest hour.

I'm listening to it right now:
np: Metallica - Fade to Black "Ride the Lightning"
Ohgod "Blue" always makes manly tears begin to form in my eyes. What a narmy friggin Spaniard in the end there though

Oh, and you picked two of the top seeds in my "Songs that would be awesome to hear as you die"-list. Good choice my friend, good choice.

Others would be Octavarium by Dream Theater (but I better take my sweet time bleeding out if I want that one) or Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fl3AQMeXSFU Seriously, nobody thought of THIS one? It's the first thing that came in my head when I read the title of the thread.

Depends on what kind of death it would be.
For a romantic ending

For decadent death among bottles of cheap alcohol and surrounded by thick cloud of cigarette smoke

For a quiet death

For silly death

And at my funeral? I'd want this to play:

Death is the Road to Awe by Clint Mansell, from The Fountain soundtrack.
Motherfuckin' A. I didn't know what I was gonna say at first, but definitely this. That soundtrack gives me shivers every time.

Almost certainly: Adagio in G minor for Strings and Organ by Remo Giazotto.

Sad stuff, it is.

EDIT: AN EMBED

Could there be any better?

Gave me chills.
Glad I could help. I find it ironic that the song is entitled "Song of Healing" when its mood is one of extreme sorrow. I feel that it would fit perfectly to any funeral.

Moon on the Water by The Dying Breed feat. Yukio Tanaka.

It's my favorite song ever. In the world. It's by the people who got me into music and this was the first song I ever learned on guitar/bass so natural choice really.

Also, I dunno how to embed youtube links...

"Pity The Dead" by Bad Religion.

It's the way I look on life, and I'd hope that it at least makes people slightly happier that I'm better off than they are.

I promised a friend I'd say something from his favorite movie at his funeral, "He was a fucking great guy, and this is turning into a real asshole of a day".

He has to promise me to play that at an appropriate point in my funeral.

In general though. I'd play a song that even my moat upset funeral atende would have to laugh at. "Before we bid fair well to Tyler into the heavens. We will follow his last request with the playing of "The Ghostbusters" theme song".

Seriously though. Dream On by Aerosmith.
