Doesn't quite count, but I'm well on my way to becoming L4D's "That guy". I've successfully beaten the whole No Mercy campaign on expert with pistols only on single player. The second one, I'm still working on.

In terms of SSBB.

I know about 4 'That guys'. Which is good, because until we found a 4th i was sick of dying like a ***** every 15 bloody seconds. Is it because i play gannondorf and link? I just love those characters. Gannondorf has the God-elbow! How am i to resist!?

The 'That guys' all play fast, jumpy little characters. But i live for those rare, rare moments when my doom-elbow connects, and blows their pansy asses out of the game and onto the PC where they weep once again in the face of the advancing craftworld forces.
Might I suggest Ike? His doomsword is just as satisfying (I can say without hyperbole that its sheer power never ceases to amaze me), and his down+B allows you to counter their little hoppy asses.
BUT DO YOU FIGHT FOR YOUR FRIENDS? *whack'd*

I think I'm starting to be "that guy" (girl? I'm a girl!) with Sonic in Brawl. Though, to actually get to the point where I can fully be "that person" I'll have to actually BUY a Wii and Brawl. XD I'm heavily considering it, though.

I'm never 'that guy' since I usually don't bother enough with the same game to grow 'skills', tactics and the likes. I have 2 housemates who are both 'that guy' though, it's annoying playing any game against them, which in turn made me love coop.

I'm "that guy" on all the Smash Bros and Mario Kart games... although thankfully at Uni one of my house mates was another "that guy" so our fights tended to get epic, while the other 2 players just tried to stay out of our ways as we bee-lined for the uberfight. We occationally used the other people as projects against each other as well. That was fun :D

Yay, boasting thread! The only game I consider myself "that guy" on is MGO because I played MGS4 a huge amount. I thought the same would be true online for Resistance after beating single player on Superhuman, but everyone seems to destroy me. It's like they are all "that guy"...or I really suck.

I'm 'that guy' for every game in comparison with my friends. Except SSBB, which I only play if friends are over.

I fight my friends. They'd better prepare themselves, for they'll get no sympathy from me.

Btw, I'd highly recommend getting it. Best $500 I ever spent.

I'm the That Guy of the 'I Bet He's Cockney' Thread.

I have been known to be That Guy for the Soul Calibur series, but that's mostly because my brother is that kinda player as well, and expects me to play at his par so we can compete, although he's usually better than me. the end result, though, is that I stomp most of the locals at the arcades and during the tournaments. Although I'd probably a run for my money on a more national tournament.

As well as that, I've accidentally come to be that way for the first Halo for the PC, because it's how I would start my mornings before classes. Two hours a day for several months straight got me a very firm understanding of the pistol habits and Shee physics. I can probably go toe-to-toe with just about anyone can come out at least tied, although I do occasionally run into someone who's even better than me, but it's usually a 1 in 100 thing. Which is sad, becuase I never wanted to be That Guy and I enjoyed the competition.

] The God-Elbow is rather slow, and I find that it's not too useful in most situations. His downward smash is good because it has about the same range as the elbow, and the first kick usually sucks them in to get hit by the second. Ganondorf's running shoulder barge is surprisingly powerful.

I'm also a "that guy" in SSBB (don't always have access to online though), with Captain Falcon and Ganondorf. However I do considerably worse in Free for alls with items on than 1 on 1 fights with items off. I just can't focus as well with all the shit that happens on the zoomed-out screen at once.
Ah, we always play free-for-all's, you see. That may be where i fall through. I do appreciate his God-Foot, but i live for his back attack in the air. What a move.

I tried him, he pleases me greatly. Has the slowness that i adore and a speed in his attacks that makes him deceptively survivable. I will use him more often. I also tried bowser. I failed. Hard.

On another note, to reaffirm my manliness after sucking so hard in this thread, i went out and took down 4 insane bots with one AI teammate. The AI just makes it possible. Took me 3 bloody hours. Craftword Ulthwe foresaw victory, however, and a warp spider infiltration team managed to break the back of one of the opposing bots mid-game. Then it was a game of Reaper tag and Viper strikes. For fun, i then took 5 easy bots with chaos. Raptors rule so hard i may just marry one.

Sorry, but after yesterdays relentless pounding by "Those guys" and feeling very inadequate in this thread, i felt the need to flex some muscles. And i'd say i flexed them mighty well.

On another note: Does anyone here infuriate "Those Guys" by playing in an unorthodox fashion that they cannot cope with? Like victory through noobishness. Getting it so wrong its right? I once dueled and dominated our head that-guy by bowser grab-slamming off the edge three times in a row, He's below me, so he dies first. Good times.

Thoughts? Better yet, any fellow DoW gods in the room? Fell like some Bloodshed alley, restricting ourselves to tier one?

I'd hardly call that noobish, it's his own damn fault for getting caught in it. I used to do that kind of thing with Kirby, had it perfected to an artform. The trick is to not overuse those tactics or you get predictable, but pulling one out of your ass every now and then for a cheap kill is enormously satisfying. In Smash Bros, anything goes. Except delaying tactics. Those piss me off to no end. Too bad for them Ness has a longrange spammable projectile that I control.

I was that guy with SC2, but I got bored with it because my circle of friends is small and I don't have online console play.

Being on the recieving end of That Guys really does suck the fun out a game, especially when they gloat about their expertese; last week a That Guy was saying that he'd choose a character that has "counter". What? It's meant to be about twatting Princess Peach with a baseball bat!

I try to avoid being That Guy when I'm playing SC2, and I'll opt for a character that I'm not good with, although if the opponant is a button basher I'll immediately start the long range butchery with Ivy or Nightmare, or use Cervantes' special Guard Impacts ("Yeah, you're this predictable").

I'm not good enough or patient enough to be "that guy" in the gaming world. But I'm a cocky jerk, so I try very hard to be "that guy" in the REAL world.

Think about it for a minute. Yes, it is possible.

And before you ask, I've only been fired once. Well, okay, twice. But the second time they said it was only because of "strategic restructuring."

Enough with the questions! This press conference is over!
