I just bought the Starcraft board game for a whopping $111.95, and just wanted to know what people have think about the game. Is it any good, and how many players would you recommend?

I know my dad has the World of Warcraft board game. Absolutley huge and to complicated for me but if I sat down and played it, which would take for ever it would be a lot of fun.

If it's similar then it's big, confusing for people (like me) with little patience but a blast to play with friends.

My friends and I bought it before going camping for the weekend. It's pretty fun, but it takes a good while to figure everything out. Keep the rule book handy. It's got an interesting map-creator kind of thing, but it can really screw you over.

Being that I nerdgasm almost every time someone mentions Starcraft, playing a board game based on it is incredibly fun for me.

The World of Warcraft board game is an odd one. It takes utterly forever to get your head around the rules, but as soon as you do, you'll question how it took you so long to work out something so simple. I think the fact that it's explained phenomenally badly in the rulebook doesn't help (don't ask me to explain the rules now, it's been ages since I last played it).

If Starcraft is anything like that (which I doubt, now that I've just remembered there's a Warcraft 3 board game too that looked awful), then... Good luck! Push past the part where it's crap and have fun :)

I'm not really big on the board games. My dad is the fan. He has them in the thousands. I only really enjoy board games if they are the simple ones that only take about 30 minutes at tops to work out how to play. Like chess. I just learned how pieces moved, played a little Chessmaster 3000 and then went crazy.

I did try to play that Warcraft game once with my two brothers to get a game out of it. We really tried. We sat there for about 2 hours just reading the rule book. However they have less patience than me so we just broke out Pandemic and had a 1 hour game of that instead.

I myself am new to the board game scene, I recently played a game of Star Wars RISK I had forgotten I owned a few days ago and had a blast, and then my brother and I and our friend decided to pool our money together to get a differently themed RISK board, but when we saw the starcraft board game, our nerd minds went to instant purchase, and we pooled our money and bought it with no hesitation despite the price.

I'm curious, how is a discussion about a boardgame off topic on a discussion forum of a website that covers both tabletop RPGs and computer games?
