This is surprising to people? I had my suspicions in 2004. This only confirms them. He is an EX-Formula 3 driver and had appeared in several earlier series' of Top Gear (With Black Stig) but never appeared when White Stig started.

i did...i assume this is big news in the U.K. but where i'm from i ain't heard shit about this...and i've certainly not seen any thread about the Stig's identity...

but oh well...they'll just find a new Stig with a different style...is all good...

They are considering not bringing anothe stig to life.

I find it kind of disappointing that the actors of the stig would ruin the urban legend while they were still playing him. If they got fired THEN revealed it in a book sure. But they got fired because they revealed it
