The Strongest Alcohol You've Tried

I'm not a big drinker at all, doesn't really interest me that much and I only really like Beer for the taste. That said, Smirnoff Triple Distilled was the strongest I've had, 75 proof. Not even kidding, that shit tasted almost exactly like window cleaner. I cleaned out 3/4 of the bottle by myself before any had kicked in and I ended up ridiculously wasted. The day after was one of the worst days -_-

Absinthe. I find not much point in getting incredibly strong stuff - hard to consume and annoying to mix well.

That's like saying "I like the taste of HCL".

Also, single malt scotch is one of the best tasting liquors out there, and if consumed properly, has more body and depth than wine... Everclear, on the other hand, is one step shy of being rubbing alcohol. I highly doubt anyone exists who enjoys the taste of Everclear (the effects, sure).

Still, half a bottle (70cl) of JD is starting to lose its debilitating effects on me so I've not drank in about a month.

50%= 100 proof

140= 70%

also there are two types of "proof" the older UK kind (not really used anymore) where 175 is 100% alcohol, and the US witch is just double the volume %.

All alchohol is poisonous to humans. Increasing the % doesn't suddenly turn it from non-poison to poison. The same effect as 100% pure alchohol could be acheived by drinking just a slightly larger amount of 95% alchohol.

Hell, 91 percent isopropyl alcohol will strip the varnish off of furniture(experience xD). I would hate to think what 95 percent could do to my stomach.

60% Rhum

We had the fun little idea 4 months ago to take an empty Sprite bottle and fill it a quarter of the way with rhum and put candy inside,since it works really well with vodka.We made something unholy.There are layers of booze,brownish colored semi-solid disintegrating candy and a thick white mass of candy at the bottom.
We took one sip of it and the stuff burnt like napalm.

The strongest I've tried is a tiny sip of 90% ethanol in chemistry class while my teacher wasn't looking. My friends say I was acting funny afterwards, but I didn't really feel that much.

I've had rectified spirits at 192 proof (96% alcohol by volume). Doesn't get much stronger than that. I was sixteen at the time, had practically no drinking experience, and drank... well, a lot more than I should've. My guess is I probably could've died that night. I didn't, though, I just puked my guts out for hours on end. It wasn't much fun.

Expanding on it, if anyone's curious: The 'proof' system started as a marine technique to make sure the rum provisions weren't watered down. Essentially, if the rum held less than 50% (give or take) alcohol per volume, gunpowder soaked in it wouldn't burn properly. So they soaked gunpowder in the rum provisions, and if it burned after, they knew the rum was "100 proof", i.e., held at least half alcohol per volume.

Absinthe at 70% alcohol. It just evaporated though, so didn't get much of a taste... ;P
