This kinda like a challenge but I thought it would be best suited to Off-Topic other than Forum Games.

Basically this thread is devoted to the explaination of the paranormal ond supernatural. No Im not asking you to describe all the levls in Hell and name the Demon Lords affliated with them but I am asking you to eplain the origins of myths and craetures scientifically.

Example

Werewolves and other Shapeshifters.

In Pagan times it was believed that wearing the skins of certain animals would grant hunters and shamans a connection to nature in order to gather a greater kill or to commune with the spirits. As Christianity gained power in the Middle Ages, Pagan religions and rituals were demonized and the practice of wearing animal pelts became associated with the work of witches and the Devil. There is also a conditions, such as Lycanthropy and Rabies, where subjects believes himself to be an animal, namely a wolf, take on or Characteristics of animals such salivating.

See a little thought and we're good to go. The only catch is that after your done you have to give the poster after you another creature or phenomenon to explain scientifically.

The poster after me must explain Vampires

IMO Vampires = Porphyria

A Porphyria is a enzyme disorder, there are multiple different types, but some have symptoms and characteristics like sensitivity to light, anaemia (which leads to paleness of skin) and increase hair and nail growth. These could be mistaken for vampires.

In some rare cases anaemia causes cravings for blood.

This is just a small part of the mythology, there are other theories/factors like claw marks and sounds inside a coffin from people being buried alive accidentally, being interpreted as an undead creature trying to escape. Also rabies as mentioned causes photo-sensitivity.

Anyone want to explain Leprechauns?

1. do not forget that the idea of the Original vampire came from the prince of wallachia, Vlad III the Impaler, who was not a very tan man, and who's stories of savage torture and rumored cannibalism we're seeded very deeply into the Romanian region.

2.You have to put down a Supernatural phenomenon.

don't mind me, just butting in here.

Dracula was real. He was also known as Vlad the Impaler, or Prince Vlad III the Impaler. When he inherited the crown at age 17 he introduced a very strict order. He simply killed any who opposed his ways - mainly impaling them on wooden stakes. He was merciless to any who went against him, be they of noble family or poor. His methods of punishment deemed him bloodthirsty in the eyes of neighboring areas - His own people saw him as a savior against the Ottomans. Dracula is his Romanian surname meaning "son of the dragon". In modern Romanian, his surname could translate into "devil/demon". As ruthless as he was, other nations portrayed him in a much darker way. He was know as a sadistic tyrant who enjoyed torture. The Germans told stories where he killed over 80,000 - exaggerated. When Vampires came into play, "Dracula" - known as a "Blood Thirsty Demon" - was an easy character to choose.

I'll explain it all:
1. Humans like to create legends, which explains the vast majority of all such things.
2. With unexplained anomalies, we must first realize that the entire universe to us is defined by five very simple senses. What is the liklihood that we would be able to perceive everything through them?

With the vast majority of ghosts being those of murder victims, sick children, and others who died before their time, I like to think that ghosts are simply energy released from a prematurely expiring vessel. Such energy then carries out emotive, physical, and mental patterns respective to the vessel. That's why inhabit familiar vicinities and try to contact people they know. The reason their entire essence isn't at rest is because they still had good health or a lot a years ahead of them as a vessel, so when their life is cut abruptly short, only faint traces of the person are left.

That's about as scientific as I can make it; I hope I made it clear.

people claim supernatural things are hoaxes, but they've been around for so long it's astounding. the first reported UFO sighting was documented in Scotland during the Middle Ages.

Are we real? what is life? are we just random accumulations of energy, or is there a God? and if so, does he even want us? did we come from fish? I realize I pose these questions on a mainly video game site, but this is probably a more interesting question then the one created who made this thread.

Here's a way to explain vampires:

When you die, and you corpse wastes away, you skin loses volume.
This makes it seem like your hair, beard and fingernails have grown, even though you're supposed to be dead.
The same thing happens to your gums which makes your teeth more fang-like.
In medieval Romania, they once had a plague and people thought it was caused by the dead. They went digging up people and putting steaks through their chests. Sometimes, the gasses escaping because of it made the corpse jerk, or even moan or scream. This can also cause blood and other rotten guts to pour from the mouth, making it look like the corpse had drank blood.

What they saw were fanged corpses, that seemed to drink blood and would move or scream when impaled. And that's what started the whole vampire thing. Of course they have evolved through the ages.

The supernatural is an entirely fictious concept created by a combination of the human tendency to see patterns and connections where there are none and straight-up lies.

There's your explanation, move along.
