Over the years, I have:
Dreamt of falling blocks.
Dreamt of improving cities first with a granary, then with a temple. Ooh, need an archer and some walls would be handy too.
Dreamt of spreadsheets.
Typed out everything I did in my head in walking and sleeping life after doing a 10,000 word dissitation in 1 day.
Struggled to sleep wondering if an AK47 or an AK74u would be best in my offices (it has lots of side rooms, but long corridors too).
Wished I could pause or quick save life.
When pissed pulled out my replica wakizashi and believed that I was Rand Al'Thor...Before Path of Daggers when he started to become a douche.

Dreaming about a game is really perfectly normal. Dreams tend to take the events and things you think about over the past few days and use them for themes/visuals/etc. Anyone who plays or even just thinks about a game is viable to dream about it and it's not just the case of "omg there must be nothing else happening in your life to dream about a game" or "omg, you must've played 17 hours a day for weeks to dream about games". So I call bull on that, but yeah, if you wanna count it, I've dreamed about games and I've dreamt dreams that were about something else using game mechanics, visuals, themes etc.

On the actual topic... yeah had that plenty of times. For example, Assassin's Creed had the effect of me shoulder-pushing-aside people when in crowds. Still kinda do it, it's surprisingly effective :p

On the music humming, oh God, that was the worst. Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. I remember it cause I played it loads, both home and at a cybercafe with some mates in multiplayer. The thing is, the tune of the multiplayer got so stuck in my head, that when I was in a cybercafe on one occasion, I was humming it, barely noticing myself cause I had the headphones on. The guy next to me playing WC3 turned to me after some half an hour or so looking absolutely desperate and basically completely politely said "could you please shut the fuck up?"... I suddenly realised what I had been doing and was embarrassed as hell ^^

Mostly happens to me with Open World-type games.

I once caught myself calculating how much distance there was between me and a junction box, which is important to know for InFamous.

Whenever I walk past a building with three more stories, I automatically assess whether or not Ezio of Assassin's Creed 2 could climb it without changing surfaces halfway up.

If my guild has been slamming it's head against a particularly tough raid boss in WoW and my role in the fight is particularly difficult, there is a good chance that I will have a lucid dream about it as I am trying falling asleep.

Another thing that bugs me (not sure if this is related to the Tetris Effect, but it is related to Tetris) is that I have a really hard time watching someone play Tetris poorly. It makes my skin crawl.

The first conscious look out of the windows of our new apartment onto this landscape of tightly packed roofs (not sure whether "medieval" is the right word for the surrounding building stock, "old" certainly is) had me absolutely thinking "Assassin's Creed".

And, not so much gaming related, but every once in a while in certain circumstances, for a fraction of a second, my brain wants to make me press ctrl-z.

Probablynot.

Did anyone used to hear the Msn Message received noise randomly? I did.

EDIT: Plus, when i see someone i don't want to see i sometimes go into Ezio mode to avoid. Head down hood up move through crowds all snaky like. Lol.

Edit: It's as good a time as any to post this video, actually. Good luck getting it out of your head.

Damn! You ninja'd my video!

This has happened to me with Minecraft. I see Minecraft when I close my eyes for prolonged periods of time. I also had a dream where I was playing a match of TDM on Nuketown in Black Ops. >.>

Really? I used to get it quite a lot with Resident Evil 4. I dreamt every night for a week once that I was in a spanish village tracking down special gems to put in a briefcase I had. The briefcase had special bits laid out for them so I think it was meant to be something else.

And a truck exploded =)
Speaking of Resident Evil 4, whenever I try to remember a girl's name, my default first guess is always "Ashley."

Am I doing this right?

I often have pokemon or mass effect dreams. This sort of thing doesn't really happen to me when I'm awake with one exception. Every time I do something that I like or was really lucky I have the urge to quicksave. This gets especially intense when I'm driving long distance. I'll pass a landmark and think "I better save so I don't have to do that again"

Also while driving I try and quick-travel, but to no avail

One game that I got a bit into was Battlefield 2, leading to me checking cranes and high buildings for snipers hiding on top of them. Planetside also had this effect that I'd imagine a map of buildings as I went into them, knowing where I was going and planning a route to them, also imaging people saying things in voices from the game. This video kinda sums it up:

This video has replaced my tetris music in my head, so whenever I'm doing anything like packing bags or whatever else that involves spacial awareness and I start humming the tetris tune, these lyrics have become the standard.

I dream about games all the time. Also, if I play a game for a while before bed the images will flash in my brain every time I close my eyes. Its disturbing and is almost a mild form of OCD. The obsessive part anyways.

I get the Tetris effect all the time. I get it with any game I play a lot, and that has included Tetris in the past (as well as Diablo 2 and Minecraft, from memory). Most recently is Killing Floor, where I keep seeing lines of clots in front of my handcannon, ripe for the headshotting.
