As my avatar suggests, I think Theodore Roosevelt is AWESOME. Half-ironically, yes, but the 26th President of the US was a total badass.

If you agree with me, feel free to admire/appreciate him and the Panama Canal in this thread. Make up Teddy Roosevelt jokes, comment on his historical record, or...I don't know, help me in my quest to show the world that Chuck Norris jokes should really be Theodore Roosevelt jokes. And they wouldn't be ironic.

Comment on some other presidential badasses (Andrew Jackson) if you feel like it.

I realize that this is a rather pointless thread, but hopefully it will be the start of something hilarious.

Here is my contribution, in joke form:

If Chuck Norris faced off against Bruce Lee, who would win?

Neither. Teddy Roosevelt would ride in on a bull moose and trample them both.

I always thought he looked quite similar to Stephen Fry...
I totally see that now, but wouldnt it be the other way around? Since Roosevelt came first and all?

I think I would have pick Andrew Jackson as my favorite president. The man was a badass and as tough as nails.

Fixed it for you. Though I think FDR did a better job during his term.

Ah, yes, the president who got shot and still gave a speech afterward. Probably the most badass president of all time.

BULL MOOSE PROGRESSIVE FTW!

I think he's pretty cool. He's from New York isn't he? Good enough for me.

Also, all the other things that are cool about him.

My friend and I once went on a detailed conversation of what the presidents were doing in heaven. We decided that Teddy would be pimp slapping Taft and telling FDR who disappointed he was while FDR cried back, "You aren't my real father." We are both highly aware that FDR and Teddy were distant cousins (5th or 6th I think) but it was still funny to think of the man that lead the US through WWII and the Depression as having daddy issues.

Not gona vote untill the second coming of Lincoln or Rosevelt.
I forgot, which president Rosevelt said "Speek lighty, yet carry a big stick."
It was TR. He applied that policy toward pacifying the world and became the first American to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

I must add...QFT a thousand times over.
Not to get into a political rant here, but here's the way I see it:

In America, we have the Republicans and the Democrats.
The former seem to have no message at the moment, and focus solely on getting into office.
I agree more with the Democrats, but they have a long history of being totally incompetent when it comes to selecting a good presidential candidate (Horace Greeley, anyone?) and of asserting themselves in the legislature.
What we need is a party free of all partisan bickering. We need a party that will work towards a new America, one built on a fair chance for all. When Theodore Roosevelt saw that his party was not working for America, he formed a third party: the Bull Moose Progressive Party.
Now is the time for the Bull Moose to rise again.

TR expanded the power of the executive at the expense of liberty. An interesting case study no doubt, but nothing to celebrate.

I think that both Rosevelts were awsome, Teddy made eveeryone happer for the most part and Franklin was elected 4 times, led America through WW2, created plans to get us out of the depression (although the outbreak of the war sepd up the economy) and he did all of this while crippled with polio.

Can you imagine what a Teddy/Franklin Hybrid woud do? Everyone on earth would most likley submit to the hybrids jungment while it ushered in a new golden age for humanity where we expanded into space (after helping humanity escape the age of strife) while the hybrid secretly rejoined its Primarchs (who were greated from the gene-seed of the Hybrid) who were scattered throught the galaxy by the forces of Chaos that exist in another dimension. The primarchs and their legions super soldiers they created would help protect humanity and be the spear head for the crusade across the galaxy. However the forces of Chaos will corrupt the warmaster of the legions and after a great civil war, where half the legions fell to the corruption of the Chaos and would engulph the galaxy in a civil war. Eventually the hybrid and the warmaster would square off in one final epic battle where the hybrid slays the corrupted warmaster, but is himself halfway kiled by a cheap trick the warmaster used on him. The hybrid is kept alive however by the advance Golden Throne, which also allows travel between the stars. However the hrone is powered by countless souls, but must be mantained for the better part of humanity.

This is just on of the many countless hybrid theorys though, I figure somthing else could happen, after all you never know.
