The Thief Thread

I liked Thief cause it was..diferent..and made me feel like James Bond(when he was a spy instead of the action hero he is today) in this strange fantasy world. That and it was scary not Bioshock scary with light tricks and "I am here now I'm not!" monsters, but "OH MY GOD LOOK THE OTHER LOOK THE OTHER WAY!!! NOES I HAVE BEEN FOUND! RUN!"

I never got the opportunity to grace my gaming library with Thief, my mom was always stingy when it came to money for games. As in I'd only get one new game a year, on my birthday.

I loved all of the Thief games and they all have their memorable baddies. I think they are also responsible for the having the most pants soiling atmosphere in any games. The rattling and groaning of the hammer haunts always gets my heart racing; by the time I usually hear it, they are behind me and about to beat me down. The way that thing the contains your eye whispers to you creeps me out. It's a neat touch how it talks to you once you get it back.

I only played the third one since it was on sale on Steam, and I thought it was pretty good, especially the Shalebridge Cradle level. I can still feel my spine tingle when I think of that level.
