Those that thing "coke cap" have a name? if not why don't we make up a name?

Try to explain your name choice.

My suggestion is "rubber". The reason is that "coke cap" works as a condom for the coke, it keeps the coke from spilling =P

It seems a pointless little thing, it doesn't hold coke in at all, thats what the cap does!.

Its part of the lid anyway, it just breaks off so its still considered part of the cap.

If you take it out and turn the coke/soda oppside down the coke will start to fill the cap and then start overflow.

Rubber sounds good xD

If you really want to know what it's for, here it is:
It's to keep the gas from escaping the bottle, it's completely air sealed and that's why you hear some gas escape when you first open it.

Cheers

ummm how about a gasket? because that's what it is
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasket

[quote/]
A gasket is a mechanical seal that fills the space between two objects, generally to prevent leakage between the two objects while under compression. Gaskets save money by allowing "less-than-perfect" mating surfaces on machine parts which can use a gasket to fill irregularities. Gaskets are commonly produced by cutting from sheet materials, such as gasket paper, rubber, silicone, metal, cork, felt, epidermis, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass, or a plastic polymer (such as polychlorotrifluoroethylene). Gaskets for specific applications may contain asbestos. It is usually desirable that the gasket be made from a material that is to some degree yielding such that it is able to deform and tightly fills the space it is designed for, including any slight irregularities. Many gaskets require an application of sealant directly to the gasket surface to function properly.

I'd call it a seal if this were a sensible thread.

CONDOM CONDOM CONDOM!!!!! BLAAAAARGH!

Sorry.
It is seriouse! i think? This came up when in class I was drink a soda and the "coke cap" fell to the ground and away towards the teacher, (i was playing with it). And he asked me what it was. And since I didn't have a name for it I just keept saing "the thing under the "coke cap"". I live in Norway, and we don't have a word for it. So here we are. So back to my point, it's semi- seriouse.
