Everyone I know felt nothing at that final scene those heartless jerksSoranMBane said:Wheatley's betrayal in Portal 2 hit me really hard. It was the first time the whole betrayal twist had actually felt like a betrayal, because I'd genuinely become attached to him and because it obviously wasn't premeditated; things just sort of happened that way, and up until that point he'd genuinely been trying to help me. I couldn't help but break down crying when he apologized at the end.
This would have been for me too, except for the fact that i happened to have left a boom shield on the exact spot where his wife is, so he delivers all his lines to a shield and hugs it and everything. I lol'd so hard.Lord Beautiful said:Dom's reunion with his wife in Gears of War 2 was surprisingly tear-jerking.
Sorry, but I figured with games as old as Final Fantasy 6 and 7 the people who don't already know what happens will likely never find out as they are probably not fans. That said, I didn't know the spoiler code until not too long after my post.Thaius said:KaizokuouHasu said:Same here. The end of the Phantom Train part where Cyan sees his family and everyone from Doma boarding. Also from the same game when Cid dies and Celes contemplates suicide, then when she sees Locke's headband on the bird.
Also, the ending. I though Terra was going to die too, but instead she just becomes full-human. Nice ending, unlike other Final Fantasies (I'm looking at you two FF7 and 13). ¬_¬
Terra's Orphanage. Sweet.
Oh! The obvious one; The death of Aerith. Waaaah!! TToTT
Okay, both of you. Memorize this code.

Take out the asterisks, put the spoilers inbetween them, and you have one of the most important functions you could possibly learn how to do on this site. Always, always use these when talking about spoilers. ALWAYS.
Well yes, obviously. That's an obvious part of the character of them in the game, but that's not the point. I know they were brainwashed, but does that change why they were an emotional part of the game for me? Negatory.creationis apostate said:They do it because they were brainwashed to. In fact as part of the story (In the GOOD one) The big daddies represented the downfall of society and the moral degredation that comes with greed.Fleetfiend said:The dedication of the Daddy, and the trust of the sister. Whenever I heard my little sister scream in Bioshock 2, I felt legitimately angry. I was really surprised when I realized how emotional I felt about it, because looking back, it didn't seem like it should have been as bad as it was.
I just know that some people are still catching up: I only played FFVI about a year ago. It's one of the best games I've ever played, but I wasn't playing games when it came out, so I didn't get to it until now. Admittedly the Aerith thing is pretty common knowledge, but still. I'm a writer myself, so I'm harder on spoilers than most people because I know how upset I would be if I put tons of work into making a story effectively surprise someone and people just found out beforehand.KaizokuouHasu said:Sorry, but I figured with games as old as Final Fantasy 6 and 7 the people who don't already know what happens will likely never find out as they are probably not fans. By the way, do you know how to change the text in the spoiler box? I don't want it to read "Spoiler: Click to View".
I don't think one evil act makes a person evil, personally. I feel like there are shades of gray. It's implied from that news article that she finally snapped after his abuse and stabbed him in self-defense-- yeah, she went way too far with about 36 stabs, but she was freaking out in the heat of the moment. Plus, she feels insanely guilty about it-- it's not like she killed him without regret. Because of this, in part, she constantly mentions how she's a bad person and eventually kills herself.Mackheath said:I didn't say she ws a bad person; I said she was an evil person. Despite being raped she still killed her own father; that is evil. Yet she had justifiable reasons for doing so.creationis apostate said:She wasn't evil. She was abused as a child and who are you to say that someone like that is actually a bad person. In the game she is 16. She believes herself to be evil, to be damned to hell and that is why all she sees in silent hill is fire.

And yeah, here:Again, just take out the asterisk and you'll be good to go.
xD that's awesome. I don't think I've ever had something glitch like that.Derek_the_Dodo said:This would have been for me too, except for the fact that i happened to have left a boom shield on the exact spot where his wife is, so he delivers all his lines to a shield and hugs it and everything. HOLY MACKEREL. I know you.Dr. Paine said:Portal 2... a few parts.
When GLaDOS was being pulled into that pit and started screaming. I wasn't exactly a fan of Wheatley- he was slightly annoying but entertaining- and I did not want to stick the little idiot in charge. After he put GLaDOS into a potato and started going mad with power... well, revenge was the only thing I wanted. I was pretty happy to see Wheatley got stuck in space, and that ultimately, GLaDOS did win.
Atlas and P-Body. Just Atlas and P-Body, the whole development of human traits as they go along. Especially since it was me and my brothers playing, we always had fun trying to kill each other, but the best moment was when you earned the 'hug' action. We were going in blind, and had to figure it out on our own, so that part was just a little more emotional than it should have been.
I'd also say several parts of Mass Effect 2 got to me... watching the Normandy go, of course. Then there were the loyalty missions, all of them were pretty touching in one way or another. Thane's romance path also had me choked up a couple times. And, of course, getting through the end of the game with no casualties, and saving the crew, that was a moment of true greatness.
