I've been watching Seinfield season one on DVD lately and it's reminded me of just how funny that show and Jerry's stand-up was, especially in the early years.
In the spirt of the show about nothing, here's a thread about nothing. Feel free to contribute your random thoughts, rants, funny anecdotes about whatever you want. The only rule is, it can't be about anything that is actually important or that has a long running thread about it already.
Here's one to start:
What's the deal with cleaning house when you know company is coming? You live with your house the way it is most of the time. You're comfortable with it like it is. But as soon as you know company is coming, all of a sudden, it needs dusted, picked up, even re-arranged in some cases. Are we afraid our friends and/or family will find out we don't dust on a regular basis or something? I bet if we snuck into the houses of most of the people we try to impress, we'd find out theirs is just as dusty and disorganized as ours is, if not worse. Do you do the "shove random things in a closet and under the bed" thing when you are running out of time and they are almost there? I have to admit, I've been guilty of doing that stuff myself. I grew up with it. My Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma did it before me. When I'm not in the midst of doing it myself, though it seems like a really dumb thing to do.
