Will it? The only three IPs that still make them money are gonna stick around a lot longer, but they're specifically stripping them away from the Ubisoft name. If anything we might be looking at an Atari situation where it technically still exists as a corporate entity but it doesn't really exist in any way that means anything to us.

Now, now, they have far more very important IPs. Particularly Heroes of Might and Magic, which will soon have a next installment. And they also have Prince of Persia and Rayman
Weird far right arguments about Oichi being Nobunaga's ''daughter'' aside I think her role in the game is kinda weird. Historically this was not a time where Oichi had a lot to do. Her time in historical records mostly come in two phases with one before the game's setting and one after it. First she married into a clan that would one day go to war with her brother. This often gets romanticized as some sort of Romeo and Juliet thing. Her second sting of activity comes after this game's setting where she opposes Hideyoshi's rise as Nobunaga's heir as the wife of another top Oda general, and Hideyoshi's main opponent for leadership.
Had Hideyoshi been a bigger focus, either as templar or Assasin ally Oichi would have more to do. But should Hideyoshi become more important DLC the game already seems to have wrapped up Oichi's story and thus she likely won't have much focus there.
Though Hideyoshi killing Oichi definitely would be cause for a rift between him and her maybe lover Yasuke.
They clearly don't know Japanese History and it is going off of whatever cuff they think is the "right narrative". Fuck them. They'll forget and move on to some other shit within a week.
Reminds of the movie Braveheart. The whole affair with the princess was made up- IRL she was like 9 years old when William Wallace was leading his rebellion.
But it made for a hell of a movie!
(a bit of extra coincidence or irony or whatever that that movie was made and starred someone who would become a culture war right-wing avatar of sorts?)
