So the other day I noticed something, from I joined the Escapist last year I?ve had roughly 8,329 ideas for threads and I?ve only made about 3 or 4 in my time here.

The other day I for some reason fancied asking you guys if you fill your tank full, or just put a couple of litres in your tank when you buy petrol via a thread with a poll, I managed to talk myself out of it, like did with the other 8,000 odd ideas.

I like making threads but I only ever seem to have pretty terrible original ideas, so I came up with this little thread!

My question to you Escapists is "What Threads where you going to make, but never got around to actually making??

Okay, GO!

Click Forums up the top, decide where ur thread will belong, gaming, politics, other etc, and click new topic, the rest is self explanitory, also, dont call yourself a noob for not knowing, i had to ask someone the first time too :)

Something about public service messages and anti-smoking ads and the fact that they're fucking disgusting.
For some reason it fell through.

Go to Forums, choose the board for your thread and click New Topic.

"What Disney Power Rangers did you like the best?"

Then I realised that probably no one would say anything. If I did Saban Power Rangers, it'll blantley be Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers by everyone.

I'm vaguely considering playing Fallout 3 by creating a thread, and asking the Escapist to pick each of the major decisions for me. This could lead to a wildly schizophrenic character though...

Also, woo! 500 posts!

For my 1000th post, I was going to do a review of all Pokemons. All ~500 of them.

Obviously, that never happened.

I totally get what the OP means. I think of thread ideas all the time.

But I'm not sure if I want to divulge any of them here...
I may still want to make them later on!

I like that idea, you should totally do it... But you'd need multiple polls in multiple threads, and I think maybe the mods would start killing them. Idunno, you should try anyway.
I was thinking more along the lines of: "I'm at wherever, this has just happened, my options are... What should I do? First person to quote me gets the choice2

It would make the game take 8 times longer though, as I'd have to constantly minimise it, check the escapist, wait for a reply, continue...

Oh, also, I haven't played Fallout 3 yet, so I have no preconceived notions of what to do. Or how long it will really take...

Sometimes, I wish I never created threads... like yesterday... that was kinda messy.

But there are a few threads I think abut making, but most of them aren't that good.

Calumon: Shhh, We're trying not the draw attention for a while...

Thanks both of you, now I just have to find the courage to actually make one.

Next time you have a thread idea post it in a user group and gauge the response. We've all had ideas for a great thread but then...

I had one that was loosely based of TvTropes and 24.

It was about characters from movies and games that were supposed to be "Elite" but somehow fucked up.

I had written a pretty long OP, but the thread go eaten when I tried to post it and I never wrote it again.

I also thought about a short story thread, but, *shrugs*.

I've made some topics, but they died out soon. Probably because they were not about religion.

Don't worry; if it's a fail thread it'll be forgotten pretty quickly (unless it's really really fail). Basically, my rule is: Don't start off intending to make a thread and come up with an idea for something to put in it. Let the idea come first, then create a thread about it if it's worthwhile.

I hope that makes sense.
