First of all, I know there are alot of Skyrim threads but since nobody doesn't really care, here we go.
First off, I can't find the radiant story. I tried killing an important character and he actually died, but was back to life after a couple of seconds. Have anyone discovered the radiant story in the game? 'Cause the radiant story was one of the main reasons I bought the game.
Second, I have played a couple of hours, but I've read reviews where the reviewers says that the game has more depth and content than Oblivion had. As soon I heard about Skyrim I realized that the game couldn't NEVER EVER have more content tha Oblivion, since Skyrim is smaller than Cyrodiil and I have now realized that most part of Skyrim consists of mountains. Sooo will there be more to the mountains other than just climbing or have Bethesda surprized us all? Please, I need to know and if it is, then how so?
Lastly, doesn't the characters voices lost it's charm? Even though there was just 6 or something voiceactors in Oblivion they kind of made the game more fun since they had these voices that fitted their wide faces and big heads (atleast some) and others had a kind of raspy voice which gave the feeling that we had great voiceactors to rely on while in Skyrim, everybody seems to sound the same to me. In Fallout 3, we had a kind of three response options (with a little more voiceactor variety)system that worked well since it wasn't always "Good, Neutral and Bad" responses that you were able to choose from. Even though Todd Howard said that they had learned from the making of previous games, why is it often just 2 responses avaible that doesn't sound that realistic at all?
Sorry for my bad english.

Radiant Story means you can get a new quest at any time, randomly, in the street or whatever. and just because its smaller doesnt mean there's less to do. there are cross-over quests in the same dungeon to find Specific Loot #19 for Jimmy the Flargleblargle. plus, there's lots of caves/dungeons ON the mountains.

Hi David! I want to make it clear that I'm not entirely convinced you're not trolling, but I'm going to go ahead and answer this straight up anyway. So if you are trolling, well done, I suppose, but I wasn't completely fooled.

1) I think you're misunderstanding what "Radiant Story" means, or I'm misunderstanding what you think "Radiant Story" means. The Radiant Story just means that certain side quests and random encounters are...well...a little random. It certainly doesn't apply to everything. I think people expect a little too much out of these Radiant elements, sometimes. I suppose Bethesda shares some blame in this as they keep hyping the crap out of it, but fool me once...

2) Is it bigger than Oblivion? No, it's about the same size. This is where age and experience benefits me, I suppose, because I remember that Daggerfall was 100,000 times bigger than Oblivion, and was almost entirely copy-paste blandness from coast to coast. Skyrim feels a little denser and a little more "hand crafted" than Oblivion did. Yes, they still re-use some art assets in the dungeons, but they don't have that deadly dull Ye Olde Dungeon Randomizer feel to them that Oblivion's did, and the countryside tends to be significantly more scenic and memorable for being more vertical.

3) No.

The Radiant Story refers to how the game will place quest items in different locations and random encounters you come across based upon the decisions you have made. For example, you stole something from a person's house, they might end up sending a bunch of thugs after you to teach you a lesson.

Try actually exploring. I'm 100 hours into the game and haven't even discovered all locations yet.

Skyrim has more diverse voices for quest-related NPC's. Filler NPC's such as guards and random town folk will still have the stock comments.
So, I got a bunch of thugs after me, killed them, took their contract, went out to kill the old lady that was alone in the forest. Plus the only thing i had stolen from her was a radish. Radiant story? More like random encounters.

But Todd Howard said that if a important NPC dies, he/she will be replaced and the new NPC will keep the quest going.
"Even though Todd Howard said that they had learned from the making of previous games, why is it often just 2 responses avaible that doesn't sound that realistic at all?" <<<Is it a "No." to this question too?

And that's exactly what happened. Note that "another" doesn't necessarily refers to an entirely different NPC.
I'll guess I'll have to play a little more Skyrim I guess. But I tend to like "HERE'S ALL THE MECHANICS IN THE GAME, LEARN THEM FAST OR YOU WILL SOON BE DEAD ! But of course there's more than that to this game, don't be silly." and Skyrim hasn't really delivered yet.

I guess I have to eat more oranges, then. I tend to like apples. These oranges haven't really delivered on being apples yet.

Ok, I'm sorry that Skyrim wasn't really what I expected of it, but I love it. I eat oranges, apples and bananas too you know.

Skyrim is a kind of game that can take a while to fully get going. Give it some more time, explore the world a bit.
Sounds like a plan, but it will take a while since I have other things in life than gaming.

Having put in about 40 hours, I guaran-fucking-tee you that there is more content in Skyrim than in vanilla Oblivion. Significantly more. And what is there isn't just more of the same fluffy quests, a lot of it is pretty good. It feels a lot less padded by crap than Oblivion (and Daggerfall, really) were.

My only problem with Skyrim is where the fuck did all the monsters go in the 200 years between Skyrim and Oblivion?
