Cave Dwelling Meta-Human Shaman
Cave Dwelling Meta-Human Shaman
Soldier of a FutureUltraman950 said:Name: Michi
Background: No language anyone on Earth is familiar with, but it has roots in Latin.
Period: With her peoples' limited technology, it might as well be around medieval times.
Era: See "period".
Origin: She had a vision of something bright deeper into the caves (actually further out of the caves, and felt compelled to check it out. Turned out to be a wormhole.
Age & Gender/Race: 24, Female, Meta-human
Height & Weight: 6'1", 175 lbs.
Appearance: Large, faintly-glowing blue eyes; midnight-blue skin and hair with bio-luminescent specks all over; hair tied back in a long ponytail; form-fitting dark-green clothing that appears to be made from some sort of organic material also with some bio-luminescence, no shoes; lithe build.
History:
Michi comes from a divergent race of humans from an alternate timeline that spent almost all of their lives in caves. As such, over the years, they adapted to the darkness (helped along by some of the plants and animals they had to eat) by gaining larger eyes, some bio-luminescence, and sensitive hearing. Due to the labyrinthine nature of the cave systems they called home, they also have an uncanny sense of direction. Michi herself is a "shaman" of sorts, her mind being a particularly good conduit for mental energies. She's still very young, though, and is still developing her skills... or at least she was, before the whole "time hop" thing.
She'd started having brief flashes of this alternate (and very bright) time a few weeks before the one that sent her to the wormhole not far from the mouth of the caves. She'd chalked it up to her psychic visions showing her the past, or possibly the future. In fact, she took it as a good sign. That meant her powers were developing more, right?
Ever since the time-hop, she's been naturally very eager to get back home, doing everything she could think of to replicate what happened... which wasn't much, since she can't read English, her meditating wasn't giving her anything, and she wanted to keep her herbs for an immediate emergency, since this world didn't seem to have any like them.
Reason to be here/things to do: Learn more about her powers... and get back home in one piece.
Personality: Naturally curious, but understandably paranoid of these weird things that sort of look like her, but... aren't. It doesn't help that she can't understand their speech (she can understand their brains, but only when her own mind can pick out what it's thinking). She also doesn't like being in the sun, because it hurts her eyes.
She would very much like to get home, and out of the gaze of that huge glowing thing in the sky. Whenever she's in it (or any bright area) she feels she has to keep her eyes closed, or at least cast down at the floor.
Powers: Telekinesis, very limited mind-reading (surface-thoughts only, and then only in snippets; not enough to help her in combat, but she can understand what anyone is thinking), very brief and vague flashes of the past or future (no control over when they happen).
Notable skills: Almost flawless dark-vision, enhanced hearing and reflexes, innate climbing and jumping abilities (which also make her less prone to injury by long falls or blunt trauma).
Equipment: Clothing that can repair itself after a while. A curved sword not unlike a katana with bits that glow much like her skin, the sharp part of the blade in particular. A small bag of crude gold coins for currency. Various herbs that help sharpen her mind. A small grappling hook and thin but strong rope.
Her clothing should be doused in water once or twice a day. Its other nutrients are gained through Michi's skin, which she can replace by simply eating. She can eat pretty much any human food (as long as it doesn't have too much salt), but she thinks it tastes funny.
Her katana blade is comparable to steel, but lighter.
The herbs are try and can be ingested two ways: Eating or smoking. Eating it makes it lasts about an hour. Smoking it makes it last pretty much all day, but it has to be prepared a specific way and all of the smoke has to be inhaled.
The Holy CrusaderRyans Solution said:Name: Dune Sargos
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Race: Anglo-Saxon Caucasian
Height: 6'3"
Weight: Average
Build: Slightly Muscular
Appearance: Slightly Muscular with Lightly Tanned Skin, Short Dark Brown Hair, and Green Eyes. He has a rather large scar running across his face and usually has a rather sombre expression crossing it.
He is currently wearing the standard uniform of the Rust Rangers which is essentially ODST armour that has been painted over with a jungle camouflage that would be appropriate for Vietnam.
Background: In the history he comes from the year is 2103. The technology level is advanced and has cyberpunk elements. He arrived in the present via an anomaly in space in time which he accidentily stumbled into during a patrol in the North American Sprawl.
For specific elements of it's history, look up a game called binary domain.
Exceptions in said history would be that Japan's population had been completely replaced by the time the RUST crew had arrived, this lead to the failure of the mission. Because the mission had failed the IRTC proceeded with a full on invasion of Japan. This leads to Amada bombing most of the planet and invading it using machines.
The sprawls that survived the the bombardments became overrun with a jungle like wilderness. The war ended a year ago with the destruction of the source AI. However packs of semi sentient robots still wander the sprawls.
History: Dune was orphaned at the beginning of the war, and due to his young age and the chaos during those times he ended up forgetting his real name over time. He was used as a scavenger as most children were at the beginning, however at eight he was drafted fully into the forces. First as defence but by the time he was sixteen he had received enough experience to be a shock troop on the frontlines. When he hit the age of twenty one he was trained to be a commando and was one until the end of the war. He spent nineteen years fighting machines, and the end of the war wasn't the end of the danger, there was still machines mindlessly wandering the sprawls and people were striking out as bandits. The various survivng militaries ended up reorganising into a new government and Dune signed up for the new guard, ending up in the 451st Regiment, the Rust Rangers.
He was on patrol in the jungles of the north american sprawl when he walked into an invisible anomaly in space and time. He felt pain wash over his body as his satellite connections went down. A second later he was somewhere else.
Reason to be here/things to do: Survive, Retroactively abort Yohji Amada, and Prevent the Machine Revolution.
Personality: Due to the war he is usually quite grim. Exceptionally paranoid and cautious due to the circumstances of how he got to the present and his experiences with Hollow Children. Due to his long career in the military he is generally honourable in action.
Powers: Nanotechnological enhancement is common for soldiers in is time and Dune has received several enhancements. The ones he has received boost his upper body strength, his reflexes, his motor skills, his eyesight, his immune system, the resiliency of his cells (to the point of being bullet resistant), and the regeneration rate of his cells (controlled rapid healing).
Notable Skills: Advanced Weapons Handling (Small Arms Focused), Advanced Wilderness Survival Skills (Jungle Focused), Basic Engineering Skills (Electronics Focused), Basic Medical Skills (Combat Focused), he is trained in Parkour, and was an excellent student in Field Craft.
Languages: English, French, Japanese, and Spanish.
Misc.: His first name was his nickname and his last name was the last name of his Instructor from during his Commando Training.- ODST-like body armour, helmet, and armoured rucksack (ODST as in the halo kind).
- A Combination Wrist Watch and Compass.
- A RAOW-R8 Assault Rifle (He modified it to be more ergonomic for humans and also added: a Silencer, a Holographic Sight, and an Angled Foregrip).
- A RAOW-S7 Shotgun (Modified to be more ergonomic for humans and Dune loads it with SCMITR Flechette Shells).
- A LE-18 Machine Pistol (Modified to be more ergonomic for humans and added a Silencer).
- Ammunition.
- Pack Batteries.
- A Machete.
- A Survival Knife.
- A Lighter.
- A Grappling Gun.
- A Flask filled with Corn Whiskey.
- A Cantine filled with Purified Water.
- A Cred-stick (non-functional in present).
- A Bedroll.
- A Personal survival kit (A GPS unit, matches, sterno, a radio, a flashlight, batteries, flares, a handaxe, a swiss army knife, a weeks worth of trail rations, etc.).
- A Medkit (besides basic medical supplies it includes a set of nanomachines and chemicals intended for the rapid stabilisation and healing of the critically wounded).
Indian Chief/Mysticruedyn said:Name: Wigbehrt Knopf
Background: Language: German, Latin
Period: First Crusade (Slightly altered to include magic)
Era: Medieval, 1099
Origin: During what would come to be known as the Massacre of Jerusalem, he was storming a house when he found a door, glowing a dark, faint blue.
Height & Weight: 5'7, 230 lbs.
Appearance: A muscular man, he is never seen without the dour look on his face or his armour, mostly chainmail with a tabard adorned with his orders holy insignia, although he was unfortunately without a helmet. His hair is a chestnut brown that reaches his shoulders, and his beard is still soft with youth. His eyes are a slightly glowing light blue, due to his power.
History: Although he was born a German, and raised one, he was never accepted due to his power. Many children feared him and adults exploited him, doctor by day pariah by night. His father died while he was fairly young, though he barely took notice with all the work the town leaders pushed down his throat and the bruises from thrown stones that the boys were so keen on throwing. His mothers rape and murder gave him a bit more reaction, and marked the day he learned of his arrows. 3 boys and their father died that night. He was allowed to live, though in a cell. One day as a Templar passed through his town, wounded. Young Wigbehrt was allowed to use his power on him, sealing his wounds in a warm, golden light. The Templar took this to mean he was an agent of god, and took him as a squire, nobody objected and it was with him he was truly happy. He was as a shadow for the man till he came of age, when he was promoted to a knight.
Reason to be here/things to do: To take Jerusalem back for the Christians.
Personality: He is grim and serious, and his belief in Christ guides his every move. He is also very old testament, and prone to holding a grudge. He is often baffled at the idea of Atheists or people with different religions, as he sees himself as an angel of war. If there was one postive thing to say about him, is that he is a quick learner, and adapts with ease to most outlandish situations. His combat skill is impressive, though he goes about it quickly, thoughtlessly, and efficiently.
Powers: Angelic Arm (Celestial arrows, Healing), He has had this power since he was a boy, and is one of his main reasons for joining the Templars. When activated, his right arm glows a warm, brilliant gold, and a wing made of light emerges from his shoulder blade, though it doesn't allow him to fly. The 'arrows' fly out of his palms, and can cut through armor effectively.
Notable skills: Horse riding and fencing.

Magi of ZoroasterViking Incognito said:Name: Taza Nantan
Background: Late 1800?s, Wild West (A.K.A. Cowboys and Indians)
Origin: Entered a portal during a ceremony trying to contact the spirits of the earth.
Age & Gender/Race: 27, Male, Native American
Height & Weight: 6 feet tall, 217 lbs
Appearance:
History: Taza was born to an Apache Tribe in the late 1800?s and grew up as an orphan. His father had been shot by American soldiers, and his mother died giving birth to his younger sister. He was trained to be a vicious, deadly warrior. He became incredibly skilled in the timeless Apache ways of war such as knives, bows, and guerilla tactics. When he was 25, he discovered powers given to him by the spirits. He learned he could speak to animals and manipulate nature. Taza used these powers to lead his then-chiefless tribe through a very harsh winter, after which he was named the new chief. HGe was one of the few leaders of the Apache that did not follow Geronimo?s example. He did not fold to the white man?s control, but he also did not wage open war on them. Recently, food had been scarce and the local cowboys and settlers had put a price on his head. He and the tribe shamans attempted to contact the spirits for guidance, and ended up opening a portal in time, which Taza entered.
Reason to be here/things to do: Looking for a way to ensure the safety of his tribe.
Personality: Taza is a hardened warrior and a cautious leader, despite his age. He is not arrogant, but he will also not tolerate disrespect. He is also fiercely protective of nature.
Powers: Other than his skills as an Apache warrior, the spirits granted him the ability to speak with animals and manipulate nature. What that means is he can make trees fall or bend (and other similar plant related things), he can influence (but not take total control of) weather, and he can never get lost in a forest or jungle.
Notable skills: Assuming this means regular honed abilities, he is a frighteningly lethal knife-fighter, he is a marksman with a bow and arrow, he is a great tactician , tracker, and hunter. He can use a gun, but he isn?t particularly good and prefers more traditional weapons.
Equipment: Bow and arrows, multiple knives, war club, tomahawk
Languages: Native Apache Language, English, A bit of Spanish
Steam Punk Courier AutomatonSamtheDeathclaw said:Name: Saoshyan
Background:
Period: 4th Century BCE
Era: Magical Ancient
Origin: Voluntary time displacement.
Sao is a new Magi of Zoroaster, and already a competent wizard to boot. He speaks Avestan, but knows a spell that (when it works, which is only when it's really necessary) allows him to speak and understand other languages for a short time.
Age & Gender/Race: 16, male, Persian.
Height & Weight: 5'4?, 120lbs.
Appearance: Sao dresses in all-red robes, with a red turban and slippers. He is thin, with many intricate tattoos across his face, arms and torso, most of which are images of either fire, water, or the night sky. He isn't especially muscular, owning to his training as a priest taking most of his time. He has dark brown hair worn short, and bright green eyes.
History: Sao was given to the priesthood at birth, due to his mother dying from birthing trouble and his father having died weeks after his conception. He was raised from birth to be a priest, a Magi, and, as such, was able to attain priesthood far before many would. He was trained in the magic arts of Zoroaster, of reading the stars and controlling the elements of atar and apo, fire and water. He displayed precocious talents in these arts, and mastered the basics before he was seven years old. After this, he learned miscellaneous magic from the magi in the fire temple. At 15, he became a full-fledged magi, and began his ministrations. However, after only a year, he began to grow restless and desire to travel the world. In a vision, the god Ahura Mazda showed him the ritual to open a portal to a new time, a new place. Upon waking, Sao immediately gathered the needed items and performed the rite.
Reason to be here/things to do: Boredom. He only wants to explore a new place, and to practice his abilities unhindered. However, he believes the temporal warp was caused by Angra Mainyu, the creator of evil, and that he was sent by his god to fix it.
Personality: Easily angered, prone to rash actions, but ultimately kind. Completely devoted to his religion, and devotes himself to battling druj, chaos and decay.
Powers: Aforementioned magic abilities, control/production of fire and manipulation of water, as well as a few minor spells. Also able to read the stars for a prediction of the future, though with time so muddled this is not as useful as it might could be.
Notable skills: Not very many. Due to his secular life, the only skills he ever really developed were performing rituals and magic. However, he is fairly persuasive, as a priest probably ought to be, and is reasonably capable of hand-to-hand fighting, due to a few (dozen) boyhood scrapes.
Equipment: His clothing and a small, mostly ceremonial dagger. He has a small pouch of dried haoma, mostly as a symbol rather than for actual use.
Soviet CosmonautPlastikBulb said:Name: Leigh ?Spring-Heeled? Jack
Background: 19th Century, Industrial-Steampunk era. A package she was delivering exploded for no discernible reason, throwing her through time.
She speaks English and all its variations, with convincing ability, along with French and Spanish. She can also hold a short conversation in Mandarin Chinese
Age & Gender/Race: ::Years since activation: 14. Age Appearance: Mid-Twenties. Identifies as African American Female. Designation: Third Generation Steam-Powered Courier/General Task Automaton.
Height & Weight: Stands five foot four inches at the crown of the head. Weighs approx. 245lbs unburdened.
Appearance: Leigh has dark prosthetic skin covering her entire body save for the backs of her calves and feet, and her forearms and hands. Her hair is straight up and down, black, with one side shaved short. She wears a bandanna over this, with a pair of night vision goggles sitting atop that. A cream undershirt followed by light brown leathers finishes her ensemble. Her breeches are tied off at the knee, like any good sailor, to allow her to use her legs. She leaves her hands uncovered so as to climb properly.
Since she is a third generation steam automaton Leigh is lucky that she got pick and choose how much she gets to look like a human or not. She got to design her own face and did so with rapture. Her skin is smooth and chocolate coloured. Her eyes are the standard human affair but with electric green irises. She designed her face to be not unobtrusive but also not exactly forgettable. The kind of face you would pick out in a crowd and then move on, realising that the sheer normality of her face was what drew your attention in the first place, and not suspicion of being someone important.
History: Leigh was created by a man called Jackson Thomas. A pioneer in the area of automaton integration and rights he created Leigh as a way to forward his views on equality. Coming from a family that had once been slaves to the colonial powers he knew just what the living automatons were going through in their struggle for basic rights.
Leigh was the first of the ?free? automatons, those who could choose to work or not, who were granted all the rights and responsibilities of anyone else. She chose to stay with her father and help him in the later years of his life. He was getting on and she wanted to make his passing as comfortable as possible. He had no sons or daughter s of his own and Jackson considered Leigh his created achievement and loved her like he would his own child.
Soon though, he passed, unavoidably. Leigh missed him terribly. Without her father she figured she had little other reason to live, and went to the tallest rooftop in the city. From there she stood on the lip, contemplating her place.
That was when she saw the couriers. She was just about to step off the building and become nothing more than a crater of oil, prosthesis and a dead mans? dreams when something rushed from behind her and catapulted itself off the edge.
It soared through the air, guffawing. Its electric green eyes turned to look at her and the shutters that acted as its eyelids smiled at her.
The freedom that these automatons? exemplified resonated deep within Leigh. She stepped down from the edge of the building and hurried off to the nearest post-office to be outfitted as a courier.
It was not an immediate fix for her woes however. There was a number of times mid-flight when thoughts ran by her. Thoughts like ?how about we just land on our heads?? or ?let?s go jump in a lake.? Needless to say she took a few weeks leave whenever these thoughts surfaced, and cruised around the Mediterranean.
On her most recent job she was told to take an unobtrusive brown-paper wrapped package from one side of town to the other. And she did so. Until it exploded in mid-air and she found herself falling through the sky above the largest city she had ever seen.
Reason to be here/things to do: Discover the thrills of this city and try to find a way home.
Personality: Leigh is carefree and wild, taking risks and taking names wherever she can. She?s sympathetic to the plight of others and will help for as long as she can with as much as she can. Occasionally she?ll have bouts of depression that practically cripple her. She?ll shun all sentient contact and make every effort to not go jump in a lake. If she sees an injustice she?ll do her utmost to make it better, even on an individual scale. In general Leigh is a good person.
Powers: The process of creating these mechanical marvels was never circulated to the public before their rights were given to them. Afterwards the process became common knowledge. When the rules are followed sentience just? happens. Yes it strange, but only the most intelligent automaphysicists have even begun discussing it. As it is, each automaton is a self-perpetuation machine powered by water that he she or it ingests. The process is started by whoever was building the automaton in the first place.
Leigh?s legs are powerful hydraulics capable of catapulting here a hundred feet in the air. They required a short charge to get her to her peak height. (A few seconds, max) Both her arms and legs are filled with shock absorbers that allow her to leap from building to building without out losing momentum. She has talons that fold out of her feet to anchor in place, and coupled with her clawed fingers she can scale buildings and other sheers surfaces with ease. Her night vision is no better than a human however, and she requires night visions ogles to work effectively in the dark.
In terms of integrity, Leigh?s flesh can be torn and burnt off like any human beings. If water gets in her hydraulics then she?s screwed until it can be fixed. Her chassis can handle the stresses she puts on it daily, but anything over her standard threshold and it?s going to be difficult to keep going. She?s only made of brass and other alloyed metals, nothing super tough.
Notable skills: Leigh is a parkour adept and goes free running in her spare time. She also has a very good memory for cities and streets.
Equipment: One set of durable leathers that she is currently wearing, light brown in colouration. A set of night vision goggles, black. The remnants of the package she was holding. A few scraps of brown paper and pieces of string. A bandanna pulling her synthetic hair back out of her face and a ring that belonged to her father, a simple band of tarnished silver.
Young Magician/Wizard/Sorcerers/Etc. and Dragonmaninahat said:Name: Alexei Kegarov
Background: Soviet Cosmonaut; native Russian speaker (no other languages)
Age & Gender/Race: 27; Male; Caucasian (USSR)
Height & Weight: 5'2'' (157 cm); 130 lbs (59KG)
Appearance: Though certainly not tall or dark, Alexei is handsome, possessing the brightest of smiles. He is small and thinly framed, but in excellent physical condition. He wears a bright orange space suit and white helmet.
History: 1960; The Cold War; Alexei was selected to represent his nation in the great Space Race. He would have had the honour of being the first man in space.
On April 3rd, at 05:00 hrs, Vostok 1 blasted off. The mission was initially successful, but Two hours into the flight, a disturbance was reported by ground control. Something was happening in the upper atmosphere, directly in Vostok 1's flight path. Four hours into the flight, all contact was lost with Vostok 1.
IN THE PRESENT, a spherical capsule crash lands near a small farmstead. Out clambers a mysterious individual in an orange space suit. His first words to the confused looking farmhands: "Я другу товарищ! друг!"
Reason to be here/things to do: Alexei would (obviously) like to get back to his original time period, and back to Russia. He also needs to protect the one ton piece of state of the art, classified Soviet technology he just climbed out of. The last thing he knew, the USSR was on the brink of war with the USA. As such, he can't shake the paranoia, confusion and sense of military duty whilst traveling in a strange foreign country. Meanwhile, no one has ever heard of him or his space mission (as far as everyone is concerned, Yuri Gagarin is the first man in space). Getting over this, without being able to speak the local language or communicate back home, is crucial.
Personality: At the best of times, Alexei is shy and extremely sharp minded. Unfortunately, these aren't the best of times. He is brave, but deeply unsettled by his change in surroundings. The space flight alone shook him up a great deal, the time travel even more so.
Powers: None as of yet.
Notable skills: Excellent education in mathematics, physics and technology. Trained as an astronaut. Skilled combat pilot (of 60s era migs). Has had field, first aid and combat training.
Equipment: Besides Space suit, Alexei was issued with a survival bag, containing:
Makarov pistol and ammunition; wrist compass, waterproof matches; machete; fishing kit; strobe light; fire starters; radio;wool gloves; signal mirror; medical kit; penlight; balaclava; flares; whistle; sewing kit; insect repellent; wire saw; rations and 2-liter water container.
As the survival bag is heavy, Alexei will probably leave a lot of its contents behind.
MortifiedPenguin said:Name: Aeronwen ?Aery -or- Gwen? Cadwallader
Background: 5XX AD Period, Early Medieval Arthurian Era, Time Rifts.
Age & Gender/Race: 18, Female, Human - Celtic.
Height & Weight: 5?4? & 110 lbs
Appearance: Blonde and blue-eyed, with mystic looking markings above and below the right eye and on her forehead. But the first thing you notice is the haunting beauty she possess in contrast to the simple clothes she wears - a roughspun, brown cloak to keep the winter chill of her, underneath, a simple woolen tunic, made more for practicality than for presentableness and light brown tanned leather boots that have a fur lining.
A hood encases her head, which has a simple pattern sewn onto the hem. On her back she carries a yew staff, that has symbols, matching those on her head, etched onto it and a large, translucent stone embedded into the head of the shaft, which has swirling carvings, giving the impression of sea foam or even twisting branches.
History: She was born in the small village next to the hill fort of Dinas Powys to a small family - small enough to hide her magic from them, but not small enough in importance to be noticed. She, to her dismay, was taken away from her family at the tender age of three, by order of the village elder - Math - to be assigned to someone skilled in the magical arts for training. This responsibility fell on the wizard known only as Mabinogi as he was regarded by the villagers to be as legendary as that mythic set of tales.
Homesick, she tried to run away, back to her family. However the sorcerer had erected a powerful magical barrier around his lands, he told her that when the day came when she dispel the barrier herself, then she would be free to leave. Unbeknownst to her it was a lie, a trick to make her stay. If she had left, leaving her training in the magical arts unfinished, she would not have been able to control her power when it came to full fruition. The truth of this was hard to swallow for the young sorceress, who still clung to the shadow of a memory of a loving family around a warm heart. Even if she couldn?t remember what they looked like. By the time she was eight, all the faces were just blurs in her mind.
The training was long and hard, taking up most of her time. Not to mention the chores the young apprentice had to do in service for her aloof master. One time, when she finally had some free time, she wandered to where the barrier was and tried her hand at dispelling. The long hours she had spent training towards the mastery for the mystic arts weren't for nothing, the barrier that she had been trapped by was dispelled after her efforts, drained but happy, she walked through and wandered for a bit, through the once-closed-off areas near Dinas Powys.
She eventually returned to her birthplace, the village that had given her up out of fear. She hoped to find her parents there, but she was unable to remember their faces, and the people of the village shunned her. Knowing her as a mage from her appearance - the strange marking on her face and the staff she carried on her back. They feared that her sudden arrival was an ill omen for the village, that more, less benevolent magical beings would follow. It had turned out that the barrier was not only a physical one, but a metaphorical one for the relationship between them and the villagers - a barrier of hate and fear.
Distraught, she ran back to the whereabouts of her master, knowing that was the only place for her now. On her way, she came across what looked like a large white pebble, but she could sense the magic inside it. Convinced it was a rare find - a dragon egg - she picked it up and placed it in a sack, hoping that she could convince her master that it was a pile of herbs she had picked during her little journey. Sadly, she could not keep the secret hidden for long.
After eighteen months of constant care and attention (read: hiding the things in her bed and warming it while she slept.), it hatched, with a little red dragon popping out, covered in yolk. On seeing this, her master accepted it as the truth, but not without a lecture on the responsibility of raising a young dragon. In fact, Mabinogi was glad to see that she would have a companion, which would do some good for the shy lass, not to mention the power that the dragon would bring.
The rest of her years are a blur of training and looking after the dragon - which she named Pryderi for all the trouble and worry he caused her - however one incident stands out, one that has plunged her into a world where silver building rise up to the sky and where flying boats are commonplace.
Reason to be here/things to do: Fell through a rift in time, she was sent by her master to investigate a strange presence in the mountains, however, because of the bad footing when she crouched over the rift to inspect it, she slipped and fell through. Unfortunately the fate of her draconic companion - Pryderi - is unknown to her.
Personality: Because of her sheltered upbringing Aeronwen was shy and timid, until that is Pridery hatched, and brought out her playful side, making her more outgoing. But he does irritated her from time to time, when he calls her Gwen or Aery or getting her into trouble, so much so that she even named him that. Even so, the two are inseparable, sharing a strong sense of friendship, and enjoying, just a little bit, the misadventure she get into because of him.
Powers: Aeronwen was born with the gift of magic, the ability to use her bodies energy and materialise it within the waking world. It can be used for a number of different uses, however as the difficulty of the task increases, so does the incantation and the strain it puts on her body. Enchanting an item with magic is a much better then a spell that has lingering effects since the effects that spell casts will have constant drain on her, whilst the enchanted item will be permanently imbued with the effect causing no drain on her.
Notable skills: Spell casting, enchanting, herbology and potion making.
Equipment: A staff imbued with magical power, that lessens the drain of her magic. Letting her cast spell more often - also handy as a walking stick (http://imgur.com/utcXl) and a pouch containing verious medicinal herbs, barks, and flowers for making potions.
Terratina. said:Name: Pryderi [PRAH-DERY]
Background: 5XX AD Period, Early Medieval Arthurian Era, Time Rifts.
Age & Gender/Race: 3, Male, Red Western Dragon.
Height & Weight: 14" & 8 lbs.
Appearance: About the size of a small cat, Pryderi is hardly an impressive specimen of his species, a scrawny specimen that just looks like someone attached wings to a red lizard. Speaking of that, his scales are a brilliant red with glistening scales with a golden glistening underbelly peeping out from underneath . Wings, just about capable for flight, jut out of his shoulders.
They are bat-like, with bits of thin, veined membrane between elongated 'fingers' of study bone, ending in little spikes. His claws echo the golden colour of the underbelly, albeit they are definitely made of stronger stuff that can inflict deep wounds if Pryderi was in the mood for it. Other than that, spines run down his back and his tail, which ends in a triangular point, reminiscent of an arrowhead.
History: Pryderi started life as an embryo in an egg laid by his mother, however, fate saw it that Pryderi wouldn?t grow to just a normal dragon, wild and free. The egg tumbled down the mountainous hill of Wales and ended up somewhere in the ancient hill fort of Dinas Powys, after a battle ensued between a dragon slaying knight and his mother. Nevertheless, the battle was a short one, with his mother being the victor. However, the knight managed to infiltrate the lair, and with his quick fiery death, the corpse knocked over the nest, spilling the contents - namely the little cache of gold and the single dragon egg inside.
The egg settled in a little nook by a dirt path and stayed there for a long while. As there was hardly any heat to warm it up, it just stayed there and didn?t hatch. The egg lay in stasis, waiting to be awakened by fire and warmth. Luckily, fate was more kinder than it was previously, and a young sorceress picked up the egg by the wayside. The sorceress then brought into the egg into the warmth of her hearth and her home. Pryderi awoke and the egg hatched after eighteen months of constant warmth and attention, it hatched and Pryderi awoke to Aeronwen?s face and he immediately, as all hatchlings do with their ?mother?, formed a special bond that still lasts to this day.
Three years passed of watching Aeronwen train and being trained in turn, and she grew to be a fine woman, but her shyness were still there, a remnant of her childhood. Pryderi, however, just about grew to be the size of a small cat, to his dismay. Dreams - some would say delusions - of grandeur greeted him every time he sleep, dreams of one day becoming a mighty dragon with a rich hoard. Nevertheless, his days went on as usual. Until Aeronwen?s master sent them out to investigate strange energies coming from the mountains. Despite Pryderi?s climbing skills, he was sucked in with his master into a dark hole which the strange energies were emanating from.
Reason to be here/things to do: Explore this new world he has been dropped in, as a curious little dragon should. Maybe even create a little lair and a little hoard of his own.
Personality: Playful and mischievous, but with a hint of that ol? dragon pride and stubbornness. After all, he was named for all the worry and trouble he caused for Aeronwen, but he does harbor strong feelings for the sorceress that adopted him and raised him from an abandoned egg. Because of that he does fiercely protect her from whatever threats there may be, much to the ire of Aeronwen, as those attempts often bring about changes for the worse. Nevertheless, he is an amiable little dragon, with a big heart and a big temper to match. Though, when presented with temptation, he will probably give in it.
Powers: As all dragons can, even at this young age, Pryderi can breath fire and fly. But that is the tip of the iceberg, as more powers will be unlocked as he grows older. For now, in addition to his fire breath and flight abilities, he can communicate in a manner that could be called telepathic in nature, but is more empathic - communicating feelings rather than words. While Pryderi can talk telepathically as well, his vocabulary is rather limited and feels that the other method gets the point across better.
Notable skills: Is good as fishing, namely catching small fish in rivers and lakes. Pryderi is also good at squeezing into small corners, either in hiding or for exploring small areas. In addition to this, he is good at climbing, but hasn?t the stamina to climb a large mountain, and is agile, not to mention that his eyes grant him cat-like vision in the dark. He also can speak a bit Welsh and some English, though the languages he speaks are the medieval variants commonly spoken in the time period he is from. In addition to this, he can speak Draconic, which is more of a mix of gestures and mind-speak than an actual spoken language.
