Stormrise - While the game was problematic, reaching the third mission turned the game into a nightmare. Units used their abilities on the wrong targets, became completely unresponsive to what I told them to do and...well, let's just say RTS mechanics don't work from a Third Person Camera FOR GOOD REASON. It was so horrendous that despite paying a measly £3 for it, I took it in a few days later to demand my money back - something I have never done before or since with a game, especially with such a meager amount of money. How this game hasn't appeared on TV Tropes' "So Bad it's Horrible" page I have no idea, as the game has not one redeeming quality.

DOTA Games - It's all fun and games before you run into the "LOL, N00B" crowd. And this happens in 90% of the games I sign in for, EVEN BOT GAMES O_O

MGS4 on Big Boss Hard mode: The final battle with Ocelot

Now, I realize when you play on the hardest difficulty of a game you're playing with everything turned up to eleven so to speak, but COME ON! I get all the way to this point with (relatively) little trouble, only to fight the motherfucking Goku of the MGS universe! One of his punches is equal to at least 3 of my punches, I can't break his block but he can break mine and all of his attacks interrupt my actions but none of my attacks interrupt his. The triple damage thing I could maybe deal with since bosses almost always deal more damage than the player, but having un-interruptable attacks while interrupting all of mine and breaking my block while I can't break his is just not fair

Shadow of the Colossus. Played it for the first time a few weeks ago. Goddamn that camera is impossible to control.

Finally managed to shoot an arrow at the first colossus' foot and it's health bar decreased by about 0.005%. Fuck that game.
Erm, this one isn't really warranted. You're not supposed to use arrows to begin with, ya know. If you were listening to Dormin (that voice in the sky), you could've figured out the steps to take down the colossus, no prob.

OT: The only time I can recall getting frustrated to the point of quitting was doing Stage 6-2 for the first time in Ninja Gaiden (NES). Those blasted birds...

Within recent memory:
Velvet Assassin - follow guard in shadow, he has no idea I'm there, but inexplicably when you actually near him rather than continuing his normal patrol he decides to turn around. Not because he heard me; just because.

Far Cry 1 - When a guard shoots me the 20th time through a building wall, because that's how the game engine works now apparently.

Gianna Sisters - When game decides I'm not worthy of trying the last level because I haven't achieved a high enough score in the previous stages.

Gears of War 3, LotR War in the North

Gears I just wanted to see how the story ended but it was so boring I couldn't finish it.

War in the North I only managed to get to the last level but not finish it because I had a mate to play it with, and it was just a poor game.

Halo - The Library level.
Dragon Age - Realized how boring it really was, but had to force myself to finish it.
Mass Effect - Realized it was going the same bland and boring route that Dragon Age did, so quit.
Super Smash Bros Brawl - Maybe 6 hours through the "campaign".

Only recent games have done this to me with the list being:

Call of Duty Black ops- The jam all over my face and getting killed if I so much as step out of line.
Black Ops multiplayer- After two years people still play exactly the same shitty way they've done for so long.
Black Ops zombies mode- People again acting like lone wolves in a game mode that requires you to act as a team and not horde all the points and defending only yourself.

C&C Red Alert 3- When I put two AI's onto separate teams they still team up regardless of programming against me instead which defeats the point of different team numbers.

Aliens VS Predator- Playing as marines it's far too dark and the flashlight is far worse than the flares along with lack of decent weapons being stuck mostly with a pistol and very low ammo for an assault rifle.

Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning- The majority of the game feels annoying with the combat system and getting punished for not dodging at the right exact split nano second moment along with counter attacking and always getting crap gear no matter where and how long I grind.

Borderlands 2- After completing the story the whole game feels it's only good for grinding for guns and getting crap loot unless I partner up with friends thus limiting what good loot can even be obtained.

Dead Island- Same as Kingdoms of Amalur and BL2 in which again I find the worst of loot most of the time and everything feels like a grind without much interest as I did at the start and middle of the game.

Biggest "fuck this game" moment goes to any game that's been out for a year only for the multiplayer portion of the game to become completely dead meaning it was pointless to add multiplayer to begin with.

Few weeks ago in Far Cry 2.

Just finished a mission in the middle of nowhere, and saved the game. Then, as I'm going to go get more malaria medicine, he has a fit and collapses because of the malaria. Respawn in Pala, and start on my way to the mission location. And every single time, without exception, I stumble onto 3 boats and 5 guys by river, or a 4 car pileup by road. And those few times these guys don't kill me, the guys at the mission place suddenly become Insta-headshot Sniper #1, 2, 3 and 4. With freaking PISTOLS.

So yeah, couple of times of having to sit through that collapsing scene, which is WAY too long, I thought "Screw this" and turned the Xbox off. Haven't touched it in about 3 weeks now.

Lunar dragon song: After spending 2 hours on the game, dealing with the slow walk speed (if you run you lose health), the inability to select what enemies I wanted to attack and the fact I was 20 minutes into a dungeon with no real reason to be there and it was dragging on and my supplies were all dried up, decided "fuck this". I gave that game a good chance. More than it deserved.

Golden Sun Dark dawn: Ok, pathetically easy difficulty...fine, fine...the puzzles didn't feel too interesting...now I'm getting mad... And then the plot...uuughh...

Basically, the main overarching "mission" is to go get a freaking FEATHER to fix something. That's the big driving goal. -_-. And in the process of trying to do this, I have wound up being trapped in a mine, seeing an evil army, sneaking into a labyrinth, saving an ancient people, going to the top of a mountain to find a mythical pathway to the area I've been trying to get to for the last 6 hours, having to go find a set of Crystals to MAKE the path open, and then finally crossing it. Then, as I'm thinking "Oh gosh just let me find that stupid feather so my characters will actually decide it's time to go on a world saving journey instead of all the world saving stuff being merely incidental", I run into ANOTHER FREAKING DISTRACTION. I shut off the game. All the events I listed would have been fine if I felt my goal was worth it. Hell, the first 2 games had a load of random roadblock events too, but at least my goals were game1) Catch up to the bad guys and save the world and in game2) explore the world and hopefully light the lighthouses once the game convinced me of it. But if I'm looking for a freaking FEATHER, and all the world saving is just stuff that's happening on the side...Why should I care?!

Rune factory Frontier. The PERFECT harvest moon style game. And after the second month I finally decided that spending 10 minutes every day figuring out which runeys to put where, and then spending another 10 minutes running around with a shitty little vacuum to move them around or else my farm would die off and growing would be next to impossible...I finally had enough. Not only is it a truly annoying chore, but the most efficient way to take care of areas is to make them go into "prosperity"...Which makes all your crops grow faster. Making the game WAY too easy. I don't WANT to be able to pick high money value strawberries EVERY day! In other words, it's a chore that takes away time from more fun stuff like dungeon raiding, and farming...while making the farming more boring. -_- If it were not for that freaking system...I would still be playing it, years later. Best harvest moon game ever made, killed by one retarded gameplay idea.

Seriously...how fucking hard do they expect you to hammer on that A button to keep that woman holding on to that ledge while Chris punches a boulder?
I literally at one point because I had done it 5 times before and it was really wearing on me threw the controller in there air and said "FUCK THIS GAME!" then I picked it up again and pulled it off right after....seriously fuck you Capcom.

Every time I get autobalanced in TF2, or my team really sucks, or I get backstabbed, or sniped. Come to think of it, whenever I basically play TF2, there is always going to be one moment where I just think to myself "fuck this game".

I got to Paris in Deus Ex... with two crippled legs and no medpacks. It was literally impossible to get any farther and I didn't feel like starting over from the beginning just then, so I'm taking a break from the game for now.

Final Fantasy XIII. I've lost to final boss (The priest, whatever his name is). So I thought about grinding a bit. And then I thought: "Wait for a fraking second... I don't even like this game!"
I turned the game off and never returned to it.

Chapter 3 of The Walking Dead. Very hard to avoid spoilers... but there is actually two moments in this chapter that made me take a break and a breather. It's actually a sign of the great storytelling that I was so invested in the game it affected me that much. SPOILER > Anyway, I'm talking about Carley and then Kenny's family, specifically what happens to them in that chapter. < SPOILER

Also, X-Com. Critical shot, has to hit... 95% chance... of course it bloody misses. And I get eaten... again.

Hm, Starcraft 2 multiplayer, getting cheesed repeatedly while laddering can really wind me up. Cannon rushes are the bane of my existence. I can handle them, but it really throws off my build.

There's a little known Paradox game called 'Sengoku' which is so guilty of this too, I'll try and play a smaller clan, everything is going swimmingly for 2 hours or so, then suddenly the biggest, meanest clan picks a fight with me. And there is nothing you can do about it except surrender and become a vassal or spend the next 20 minutes watching everything you have built crumble. Both are effectively game over. You have to pretty much get lucky just to survive long enough to put up a good fight. Still play it though, because I'm a sucker for that era and Shogun 2 just didn't click for me.

Playing BGEE recently as well, there are plenty of moments in that. But the combat system is D&D 2nd edition and it's dice based. Anything dice based has 'fuck this game' written all over it.

Miss a link in the game winning combo, get hit by mashed ultra, lose round.

Fucking Street Fighter IV.

It's my fault for dropping the combo, and I respect the decision to mash the Ultra, but damn. Only in Street Fighter IV do you have such lenient reversal timing, and such a damaging reversal option.

I always hastily rage quit when fighting Seth in super street fighter 4's arcade mode. He's easily the cheapest boss I've ever fought.
Why? He's a somewhat buffed version of the regular character, and he gives you a free first round, giving you an opportunity to blow half his health with a Super the next round. :V

I agree that he's annoying, but he's probably the least cheap boss in the entire series imo. Gill in SF3, on the other hand...
(PS: if I sound condescending or something now, I apologize, I'm just curious)
Hah, looks like you guys have yet to play some SNK fighters. :p

SNK bosses are by far the cheapest in the business. They are all such bastards.
I'm not hardcore enough to play SNK fighters QQ

PS: baiting people to mash out their ultras during a string of lights is really fun. :3

I never beat the game because of that. Was getting pissed that the AI Sheva kept falling into the lava, so I called my friend over to play as her so that I could beat the damn thing. Turns out that he button mashes worse than the AI and falls in just as fast, if not faster.

Fuck everything about that game.

Final Fantasy IV the retarded boss who switches damage and healing randomly but doesnt allow you to stop a command that is charging, the only time I have stopped playing a game for being straight up dumb

Then I lost it so I never will finish that game
