I always thought that Santa was a very cruel idea for children, I mean why does Santa give better presents to richer children than poorer ones.

I knew by the time I was about ...6 and a half maybe? It was brutally obvious that somone couldn't do something like that. The really funny part was, we had no chimney and my parents always made sure to lock the door before I went to sleep. One time I asked how Santa would even get in, I don't really remember their response though.

A while back I tried to prove the tooth fairy wasn't real by:

1. loosing a tooth.
2. not telling my parents for 2 days, but still put it under my pillow.
3. telling my parents in 2 days of loosing the tooth.

Results: the "tooth fairy" came the night I told my parents.

I was right.

Our family never went for the "santa" tradition. Everyone knew it was mom and dad, and after a few years we (the kids) started giving each other gifts too, with cards that said "merry christmas, from ____" and the name of the one who had given it to you.
We've never even mentioned such a thing as the toothfairy.
And Easter eggs weren't a big surprise, basically we got candy because our parents thought it was a cute tradition and they wanted to be nice.


So I've never had the trust issue with my folks. It was never about "magic", it was about seeing the smile on someone's face when they open up the gift you worked on making/getting for them.

A kind of twist on the traditional Santa Claus, he's a bit different here. I was told about it when I was seven, it did hurt. A piece of my childhood was shattered with four words.

I shed a tear or two, and that was it.

I found about Santa quite skillfully. By skillfully I mean I put sleeping pills in the milk. Mwahahahaha.

Woke up next morning to find my dad laid out on the floor. Many tears and laughs were had that day.

I don't remember, and I didn't care, and people shouldn't lie to their kids, there's no magic in some guy with a "toy factory" at the north pole (rofl, when I was like 6 I realized it was impossible too, logic'd).

There's magic in you going to work and buying whiny little kids toys.

Well, I stopped believing in Santa Claus by the time was...umm...nine I guess. The event that caused this happened during a cold winter day, when "Santa Claus" would annually descent on a helicopter to our town square. Strange event I know, but that's how it's always been.

Anyway, I was waiting for Santas helicopter to land, when I saw the strangest thing. It seemed that Santa had forgot to put his beard on and was frantically strapping it to his face and correcting his suite while landing. I was a bit confused, then disillusioned and disappointed. No longer would I have faith in the legend of Santa Claus. I wonder how many else noticed that too. Poor kids.

Honestly, noone did tell me the truth, I just kinda figured it out on my own. I actually set up a little motion detector around my fireplace on christmas eve when I was seven, it never went off. Thats when the doubts began, and I eventually realized it was all a sham, but I was Ok with it, because I felt like I had just solved a great mystery of life.
