We could use some pre-Alpha testers to help us out with the beta thats coming up 5 days.

Were also still looking for some developers so if you interested post up on the boards and show us what you've got.

We've been quite undercover about this project for a while - we only started announcing the project to other sites once we got fully setup and the team was committed - now we have sturdy team that; work well together, get the job done and it is unlikely that the project or team will disband/fold.

RPG maker?

I dunno, guess I'll keep tabs on it. Maybe you should have a Garrus cameo.

Looks pretty cool, and I'd be more than happy to be an alpha tester personally.

It's also rather nice of EA not to send the LawDrones after you, god knows back in the day I've seen more than my fair share of tie-in mods/games and the like get shot down.[footnote]Especially anything involving the movie Aliens, the owners of THAT IP are fanatical in pursuing any unauthorized work involving it.[/footnote]

The response from BioWare

The stipulations were...

- No claiming to be a team member of Bioware/EA Games.
- Give credit where it's due (credit the correct companies)
- No selling the game.

Very nice of EA/BioWare. Credits to them.

Interesting. Veeery interesting. I'm still young as a programmer, but I'd be happy to help out in testing and suggestions. Best of luck with this project!

And yes, thank you to Bioware/EA for agreeing to this.

Sounds good - check out the boards and make some posts - talk to the Lead and maybe you can throw about some suggestions and/or test your programming skills.

Looks pretty cool so far. I'm interested in how you're going to differentiate it from just a scaled-down version of the actual games. Is there a cause-and-effect morality system in the works?

Also, I love the one-word, useless responses (see post #2, #7). You go, guys! Raise those post counts!

What programming language(s) will be required for this project?
I'd be interested in contributing some coding or artwork to this but I'm not sure what exactly you need.

Its kinda a scaled down version of the game the differences are that

- Different time frame
- Smaller
- 2D RPG
- Different features and viewpoints

Its going to feature a morality system - its taking time but its going well its also going to feature the class system which can effect your speech for example if your soldier you will have tougher approach etc (optional of course) like the system in Fallout but they don't have ownership of that.

Cause-and-effect will be evident in the game and future DLC will be available if the game succeeds and does well for example more characters, classes, systems etc.

If your part of the pre-alpha you will know more about the game in progress but until then keep a look out on the boards for news etc.

Sorry I cannot really tell you, I'm part of the development team but I'm not a programmer (I'm a writer) but your skills are welcome - please register to the boards and make a post in General area and other programmers or the lead will contact you directly - we have two artists but they have there knees full with work so if another one wouldn't hurt ;)

Well, it shows promise if you handle the execution correctly. Are you setting it up as a prequel? I, for one, have always wanted to see a Turian-based exploration of the First Contact War (where the Turians first encountered, and fought, Human vessels).

It is a prequel buts its not that far back, it takes place after the events in Mass Effect 1 but before the start of Mass Effect 2 - near the time the Normandy gets obliterated.

Also try the link now - if not then go directly to the forum via the link at the bottom of the main post.

wow, that IS very nice of them.

Most companies wouldn't even allow a sniff of something like this.

With them even aware of its existence, you better make sure it's actually good, or they might decide they want to revoke the ME rights. Basically that's what they've given your team is tentative rights.

Good luck with the project, I'll keep an ear to the stone, not interested in Pre-Alpha, but when it gets to beta, if it's still around I might take a look. If you need any help with writing (if it is even a game that requires more then a few writers), give me a msg, I'm a fairly decent writer and a HUGE fan of the franchise
