It isn't your band is it?

I find it hard to consider a band "undiscovered" unless it's only really being advertised by members or friends of members.

Kora! A beautiful mix of roots reggae, jazz, electronica and metal. Hard to get hold of, but it's definitely worth finding. Wish they were mainstream ;-;

Hm, I thought I didn't know any, but there's actually someone I know who does stuff. Casual acquaintance at best, but I might as well actually contribute something to the thread.

I have never listened to any of his music, so I have no opinion on it.

Found the guy's soundcloud link: http://soundcloud.com/cautioncrisis

Hm, looking at the list of followers its less undiscovered than I'd first thought. Ah well, best I could find.

A band called Hell, who is opening for Sabaton when I go to see them this December. They were fonded in the '80s but had to split after the record label went broke. Now, they're back and have released an album and although they aren't exactly unknown to the music press. They haven't achieved as much acclaim as I believe they will one day. Although I guess they're look is an acquired taste...

EDIT: OK, now I know how to embed videos here... Took the opportunity to add two more videos by a REALLY undiscovered band.

I don't know how much "undiscovered" Wolfgang Parker is, all I know is he's been around for 15 years now and I only heard about him yesterday. Being the neo-swing lover I am, I became an instant fan:

Speaking of neo-swing, Big Rude Jake has been one of my favorite artists for quite some time, and few people know him at all:

But we were talking about rock'n'roll, right? So let me link a real band (as opposed to a solo artist) here. This is a Brazilian rockabilly trio called Autoramas:

EDIT: There is also this VERY undiscovered band, they are not even locally famous, but the singer is a good friend of mine: Sarjeta Peppers. Sadly, most of you guys won't be able to understand the lyrics, they are very funny and witty.

I'm gonna go for a c-c-c-combo breaker in terms of genre and introduce Dividing the Line:
Apparently I can't embed anymore.

I don't know what genre I'd call them but fuck the specific genre, they have a screamer and a singer and a dreamy, lucid kind of synthy sound mixed with rock and they're just GOOD. Sadly, split up :(

Thanks!

J. Arthur Keenes Band
Not many Chiptune bands (that I can find) so these were a very nice surprise.
Their page: http://www.myspace.com/thejarthurkeenesband
Note: They have LOTS more, you just have to look for it.

Alter Bridge isn't as nearly as famous as they should be. Most people only know them as "the band who does Edge's theme song."

And speaking of no fame for good bands, Ima Robot seems to not be basking in the limelight like they should be.

It spells "apocalypse governs death" if you listen closely.

....look, if you're not happy after hearing Alive, you have a heart of black.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor, they're from Montreal and the band disbanded a few years ago.

East Hasting was used in 28 Days Later (when Jim wanders aimlessly in a very empty London in the beginning) and appeared in the credits but not on the OST album (they didn't get the rights or something).

This is my favourite song. Really, it's awesome and so epic. I just had to listen to it another time before posting it. :D

BTW, how do you embed a youtube video or whatever on forums?

These guys from Ireland right here deserve a mention.

Man, the bass kicking in at the start of The Cruel Sea always gives me shivers.

EDIT: This here is my favourite song from them but I can't seem to find the video on Youtube.

Break of Reality is pretty great. It's cello rock/metal with post-modern and art rock influences. They're like Apocalyptica's more reserved American half-brother or something.

On the metal side, there's Skyfire. If I had to describe them, it would be something along the lines of "symphonic progressive melodeath", and they sound leagues better than, say, Children of Bodom.

I have loads more, but I don't want to hog the space :p

I love you. F#A# is an amazing album. They reformed recently though :)

I've heard of quite a few of these bands actually.

I am sitting here in my Alter Bridge Tour shirt and thinking you Sir are a legend. I've been listening to Alter Bridge since their first album and got all my friends into them too. They're getting more popular now though.

Not sure how well-known they are outside of Romania at the moment, but these guy really deserve wide-spread recognition in my opinion. Band name: White Walls. Album: Mad Man Circus, free to download (link in the Youtube video description).

also, more intense:

I've seen them live and they play very very well. Debut album, sounding so tight and hard-hitting... good job. :D
