Every single one of us here plays games, right? That's kind of the reason we're part of a gaming forum. And so it stands to reason that most of us will, at some point or another, get stuck at a crucial part of a game. It might be you can't figure out how to take out that one tough company of Jiralhanae in Halo 3 on Legendary. Or you might be having a problem with the final Colossus, or have no idea how to solve the Floating Castle puzzles in The Longest Journey. You might just be up against a particularly difficult boss in something.

But as I've sadly found, the likes of GameFAQs and other cheat/walkthrough sites aren't always much help. But surely there's a way past these tough milestones, right? Well, that's what this thread is all about.

Here, if you're stuck on something and have nowhere else to turn, then why not ask the question? Put the problem to your fellow Escapists here, and see what they say. No matter the problem there's bound to be someone here who's succeeded, and they could have the key to your victory. Just post your problem, or if you can answer someone's questions then just post the solution here. Much better, and quicker, than searching the whole interwebz for an answer that doesn't seem to work, right?

I PM'd the mods a while back with the idea of a Help & Tips separate forum where we could post up our walkthroughs and stuff, but I think the idea got lost somewhere along the way.

Pity, we did a poll and something like 80% of the community said they'd use it if it were implemented!

Actually, last time I was over at the pub-club forum there was a thread about a general help/advice forum that could contain everything from gaming walkthrough type stuff, to technology help, to the relationship advice threads we seem to get three or four hundred of every day. The mods said they were really interested in the idea, and wanted the people on the thread to make other suggestions for it, etc... So I think that we may actually be seeing something of this nature in the not too distant future.

I hope so, I've been thinking about something like this for a long time now myself, just never got round to doing anything about it until now when I need help myself on something (I just can't beat the superboss Trema in FFX-2) :p. But yeah, it is a good idea, I reckon. If the mods are really thinking about it, and it's going alright on the Pub Club forums, then surely it's only a matter of time before they implement something like that for the rest of the site, right?

Well, the one in the PubClub was more of a thread about making a help thread than it was a trial help thread. But yeah, one thing I've observed about the PubClub forum is that the moderators are pretty involved, they tend to talk pretty openly about future things for the site, and they often use the PubClub members to help them think up ways to make the site better. I would say that the general trend towards a help-thread would definitely suggest that we'll be getting one.

Sweet. I'll be looking forward to sharing my ME2 Insanity and COD4 Veteran tips!
