First off, this is going to based upon the book series of the same name - if you're familiar with it awesome, if not - Doesn't matter too much!

The year is 2022 CE, a seemingly immortal extraterrestrial race called "Kurians" has wrested control of Earth from its inhabitants. The Kurians derive their endless lifespans from draining the "vital aura" of other life forms. To facilitate this addiction to life energy, the Kurians employ avatars known as "Reapers".
Many humans made the decision to serve the new overlords. These traitors, known as Quislings, are set up as members of the police and supervisory government for the Kurian Order. Nearly every other human who is not a Quisling is known as a Territorials, and is either a slave scratching out a living in various trades, or fighting with rebel organizations such as the Southern Command.

After a time, the Kurian Order reduced Earth to a technological and social Dark Age, with only the few remaining pre-2022 machines and transportation networks surviving, with most of these under Kurian control. As an incentive to good and loyal service to the Kurian Lords, Quislings are awarded "ten year badges", which protect the wearers from the Reapers. Even more sought after is the "Brass Ring".

Pockets of resistance do exist, however. The main rebel group fighting the Order at the beginning of the series is known as Southern Command. A formal military (though classified by the Order as terrorists) is charged with the defense of the Ozark Free Territory; Southern Command would be doomed were it not for the Hunters.

In this world, some of the Kurian's have come to humanities side, helping and aiding our fight for survival. They do this by bestowing gifts upon certain individuals that awaken senses and powers within our bodies. These good Kurians are known to the hunters as Lifeweavers. Incredibly wise creatures, who unlike their brethren, broke away from the Kurians when they started eating souls.

There are three types of Hunters:

A hunter who is placed/chosen for The Wolf caste has his sight, smell and hearing improved far beyond that of a Human. Wolfs can change between Hard senses and soft senses. A hard sense is working overload and can pick up smells and sounds from far away. They are also faster than normal, running for great distances without tiring. Many an initiate begins with the wolfs. They are the most numerous and widespread of the three hunter castes.

A hunter who is placed within the Cat's is given the power of stealth. Given a better understanding of the area around them, a cat's senses and prowess at infiltrating is unmatched. Making up the spies of the resistance, Cat's are often in deep cover in Kurian owned lands, working by themselves or in pairs. A cat's main 'ability' is the art of infiltration.

The Bear caste is one of immense power, the lifeweavers grant the initiate greater strength and endurance, taking wounds that would kill a normal man. Bears are expert hand to hand fighters and are one of the few people within the resistance capable of taking a Reaper on single-handily and winning. Bears are massive hulking men and many of the soldiers within the resistance look upon them with awe.

The Kurian order are the Lifeweavers who have turned, drinking 'souls' to gain immortality. They view humans as little more than livestock. Many humans serve the new overlords. These traitors, known as Quislings, are allowed to live within the cities, though in constant fear of being taken in the night by a reaper.

Reapers are mindless avatars of the Kurians. They roam the land in search of 'souls' for it's host. using a long, almost needle like tounge to penetrate the chest of a human and clean their system of blood. Their bodies are protected by giant cloaks, made from an unknown material, strong enough to stop bullets and negate any damage. They are heavy though and cannot swim whilst wearing them. A reaper hunts by sensing a persons life-sign. Emotions of any sort will make a person glow like a candle in the darkness to a reaper. Only the hunters now how to minimise lifesigns, by erasing all emotion from their mid until it has passed.

Name:
Age:
Caste:
Weapon:
Appearance:
Backstory:

*Weapons are very limited. Hunting rifles and shotguns are the most you'd be looking at. Automatic rifles are reserved for either high-ranking officers or veterans. Though maybe an M1 Carbine/M14's might be available, ammo will be limited for them.

*Keep age to 18-21ish, most hunters have their castes chosen after training, which is normally from the age of 11-15.

This is set within the Minnesota area ( Chance to run in with some of the Characters from the books and also an area fans will be familiar with! Though it could expand all over the United States, if you decided too go walkies...

As of now, I'm just looking for any interest, so pop a sheet down and we'll see how many we get!

A quick question - Do I have to be a hunter, a member of a caste? Can I be a normal person or do I need to be a super hero like all of the others?

Nope, if you want to be you can be a normal guard. Being a Hunter doesn't make you a super hero. There are many Wolf's, Cat's and Bear's and they just make up another section of the Resistance. they are just looked upon as being superior to standard troops because the lifeweavers have granted them, not so much powers but abilities. When a recruit has finished his training, if he has shown exceptional skill, he may be put onto a list to be taken to a Lifeweaver. There, they will have senses and certain traits within their DNA awoken. So, to be fair they are still VERY human.

If you've ever played/Read any of the Halo fiction, it would be like comparing the Marines to the ODST's. Bears may not notice the wounds that they take, but it still effects them, they are just able to fight through the pain and stay focused. You're still very much Human.

Can I be a slave running an underground railway for the resistance, owning a bar John Cassidy Style? (Including the Heart condition).

Tell me your opinion.
.
Name: Clint Freeman
Age: 51
Caste: None.
Weapon: A single barrel hunting shotgun with slug rounds.
A Bowie hunting knife.
A Heckler & Koch USP compatible with .40 S&W bullets.
Appearance: Standing at 5'10'' and weighing 210 pounds, Clint looks like a fearsome gentleman. Receding hairline, white hair. Brown eyes. Has an almost undetectable limp in his left leg.
Backstory: Born a free man and soon after becoming a slave, Clint Freeman tasted freedom at the age of four. To this day he carries one memory from that era. Born with a heart condition, Clint was deemed a lesser breed of a man and therefore a meal not fit for a reaper. Though a few times he faced his death, he barely managed to evade it. As an adolescent Clint was taight by the surviving locals how to use firearms and sirvive off the land, though most of the survival training have faded from his memory. Clint grew up in the outskirts of the city and when he became 19 he decided he would build himself a house. A shack became a pub and a place of gathering for the communities outside of the gates, constantly fearing the reapers. In the recent decade, his Pub became the place of gathering for the resistance before they would venture out to the city perimeter and protect the locals.

I really hope that this fits the cannon.

Resistance members wouldn't be so close to a city and Quislings ( Traitors ) would frequent it to often to be of any use. ( They invade privacy to make sure none of the resistance fighters will hide there.

Also, a Kurian cares not for heart conditions - It's avatar, The Reaper, will drain your system of blood anyhow.

Other than that, it sounds good - Though, being so old comes with draw backs - You'll be a lot slower than most ( even if you have got training and know-how, your bodies just no longer capable of matching the prowess of a youth, 'specially not a wolf or cat!

I just thought that I would be a lesser meal because I have a bad ticker. Meaning he'd choose others over me. My character can work with both the Quaslings and the Resistance, offering various services to the Quaslings for some protection and also helping the resistance (Why not have a little underground basement as a base of operations?).

I get what you mean with the heart condition now - Yeah, that's fine!

Name: Thomas Thuillier (or "TeeTee")

Age: 27

Caste: Bear

Weapon(s): He carries a boarding axe slung on his left hip and a well worn sawed-off double-barrelled
shotgun on his right thigh.

Appearance: Thomas is what would be best described as burly; he stands at 5'10" and tips the scales at 215 lbs, with a shaved head and a full dark beard. He normally wears leather boots and brown wool pants, with a dark red shirt and leather vest. Various scars run across his arms and torso from encounters with Quislings and a couple of Reapers.

Back-story: Thomas was born in a Southern Command camp to a Cat caste infiltrator, and her blacksmith husband. From a young age he seemed to be destined for the Bear caste. Even as a child he was much larger and stronger than the others, and always getting into fights with the older children. His father had hoped Thomas would take after him and become a blacksmith, but he showed no real interest in the trade, even though he had a bit of talent for it.

Thomas has vowed to show no mercy toward any Quisling, seeing them as traitors to their very species (as opposed to just people just trying to make the best of a bad situation, as some people see them). This attitude has gotten him in trouble on various occasions, as he has killed them instead of capturing them for interrogation.

How's this?
