Mass Effect 1 Intro / Menu (nailed it):

this gets me every time, it takes quite a bit to get an emotional response out of me for music but damn if this theme doesn't do that. So calming and hopeful, gets me rushing to play it all!

I don't think that was mentioned yet, but that whole theme accurately describes the game and shrinks it all down into one song somehow, I used to love letting the menu play sometimes in the background after I would beat it to think back on some awesome moments.

Good gracious [http://media.giphy.com/media/9VJyKZHmHfMPK/giphy.gif], that's not how you embed a video!

You can click the 'Quote' button on this comment and it'll show you all the commands used, but it basically looks like this in spoilers (without asterisks):

[*spoiler=spoiler title here.][*youtube=Z89kgAZKaR4&start=35][/spoiler]

You have to take everything after the '=' symbol when it comes to the YouTube video URL. The end result should look like this:

The last few comments on this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.198114-Escapist-User-Guide-to-Posting-Commands?page=1] show video-related commands, but the thread's first post shows a lot of other useful stuff. Remember, you can always click the 'Quote' button to see how somebody did it. Welcome to the Escapist and enjoy your stay!

How did it take several posts to get to Deus Ex? Well most of my favorites were mentioned, here are some more:

That first game was an unexpected gem. It still has a unique soundtrack among all the games I've played, even today.

Klepacki's style particularly endured the Red Alert soundtracks to me. There really was nothing like installing the game to that music, then having 'Grinder' start up during the main menu. Fantastic stuff!

Here's two other upbeat ones from yesteryear:

This is what happens when you are sleep deprived, aha! Thanks for clearing it up, I realized soon after it posted that I made the mistake and fixed it. Although I didn't see your comment until now after I edited it.

I?m actually a little sad to see it took someone so long to actually mention this beautiful track in this thread.
I was actually worried two pages in that I was going to be the first.

God do I love that track!

My favourite version of this song is the intro credits version for Forever but fuck that game so I'll choose the version from the game I like.

I would put Sonic Adventure 2's theme on here but I don't want to cheat the menu music is just a tease of live and learn and nowhere near as good or as satisfying so I'll just give it this honorable mention.

And you can't forget this one.

Now I must go cry in a corner for spyro. Come back someday, spyro ;_;

Anyways, we need more Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines in here

sets up the mood for the game wonderfully

Journey's soundtrack is great from the menu to the end credits, so it's appropriate to post the whole soundtrack instead.

I'm going to cheat and use the stage select menu from Mega Man x4

To me, nothing will beat the Deus Ex (the original) menu music. I still get goosebumps listening to it!

Ah, poor spyro. It's not as if the company that owns him now is even doing anything with him. If only they'd relinquish him to somebody who'd at least try to make another good game.
