(Spoiler alert for Seven Psychopaths)

Personally I really love the film Seven Psychopaths that was released last year and I kind of wanted to get some level of discussion going about the final version of the Vietcong Psychopath that Christopher Walken's character comes up with .

For some reason I find this to be one of the most powerful moments I have ever seen in film and I'm unsure if I could critically explain why I feel that way so I'm hope this will stir up a bit of discussion on the scene and facilitate my own thinking on this scene and the film in general.

I thought it was a very well done film except for the marketing. Where I was it was marketed as this zany comedy full of weird moments with Christopher Walken. I mean there were some moments, but for the most part it was a serious film about the characters.

I don't really know what to say about the Vietcong psychopath though, other than I thought it was a nice twist on things

Yeah I have to agree that the marketing was done very poorly in terms of conveying what the film was actually going to be like. Although it was a very funny movie regardless of its incredibly serious undertones.

While this is true to some extent- I found the film sort of hit the mark of what I was expecting. Curiously enough there wasn't much gunplay in the actual story- but they did have enough in character's imaginations to satisfy what I thought the movie ought to have had.

Besides, compared to the director's last film, the marketing was much better. I mean, did you see the trailer for In Bruges?

If you've seen the film you know it's a slow, introspective, thoughtful but plodding character drama. That trailer tries to make it look like Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels! Probably the single most misleading trailer I've ever seen in my life.
