Well aparently The Wachowskis are not quite finished in the filmmaking bussiness as their next project is aparently sci-fi action film named Jupiter Ascending. And much like M. Night Shyamalan's After Earth this film represents the last chance the Wachowskis will get at resurfacing at the pop-culture radar after the spectacular disasters that were the Matrix sequels, the Speed Racer adaptation, and the polarisisng box-office bomb known as Cloud Atlas.
The synopsis of Jupiter Ascending according to wikipedia is "Jupiter Jones is an unlucky Russian immigrant who cleans toilets for a living. She encounters Caine, an interplanetary warrior whom the Queen of the Universe sent to kill Jupiter, but they fall in love. Caine tells Jupiter that the stars were pointing to an extraordinary event on the night she was born, and that her DNA could mark her as the universe's next leader."
Yeah, doesn't sound anywhere near as good or original as The Matrix. But still after two box-office bombs under their belt I'm sure the studio won't let the Wachowskis' egoes go out of control and we won't get anything as bad as, well everything after The Matrix (although you can dabate the quality of Cloud Atlas).
So what are your thoughts on this, does it sound good, should've the Wachowskis thrown in the towel after Speed Racer, do they deserve another chance after the numerous disapointments they dished out? I dunno, that's why I'm asking.
