*Spoiler Alert! you have been warned*

So, the sixth and final episode of the first season of The Walking Dead just finished. Did it live up to your every dream? Over hyped piece of crap? Somewhere in between? How will they continue the series in season two? I want you to get your two cents about The Walking Dead.

Also, not everyone has read the comics, and some of us might not like it if you spoil any of the story. If you talk about the Comics, make sure that you make it obvious.

Sorry if this has been done already.

The second that Guy mentioned Ebola my skin shivered. If you ever read the book, The Red Zone you'll know why. It's one if not the deadliest "thing" on the planet. I believe the mortality rate ranges in the 95% an up range, and thats for each strain. It some scary stuff.

I loved it. It made me a bit sad too, to watch the doctor and lady grip hands and smile, then to watch the building collapse on them.

I have read the first comic but not the second and loved the way the charcters seemed to grow throughout the time in the first book.
I usually do read the books before i watch the animated movie or show of a book so i could compare the two but my friends says that they have missed quite some stuff but it stills follows the same path kind of so far. i don't know, so tell me on your opinion.
The show is good and i like it and i have a few more questions.

When does season two start?
How many books do you think they shove in a season?
what happens next?

It was decent. I'll watch anything post-apocalyptic. Their choices continually infuriated me however. For example
In the one episode when the small party gets back to camp and they're all getting attacked by zombies and they're all surprised. Come on! They didn't even have a damn look out, get some brains people, but this kind of thing happens in any horror movie/shot really so, nothing specific to this series it just makes me want to shout at them through the tv.

I find myself having difficulty caring about the characters. The world/concept is neat, but that can only hold my interest so far. I feel about it like I feel about the book "World War Z". At first it was the greatest thing, but without characters to care about, I put it down about half way through. I'm worried that season 2 won't be able to keep my interest.

Also, they're doing way too much and everything is moving way too fast. The CDC thing should have been a 2 or 3 episode story arc at the very least. Hell, the man found his family way too quickly, them re-uniting would have been a nice season-ender. It also would have made me care about their reunion. As it is it's a case of "Hey, this might be an interesting charac... oops, they're dead."

I'm somewhat looking forward to season 2, but they have a lot of work to do.

I thought it was great. It had an excellent balance of inter-character drama and zombie-wasting action. And a couple times it really had me on the edge of my seat, like when:

The whole situation with Merle being handcuffed on the roof and when they find his severed hand. And also when Andrea was sitting with her sister's body right up to the moment she reanimated. I was convinced she was going to be bitten too!

TV shows don't often do that.

The only thing that pisses me off is the possibility that season 2 won't start until next October, nearly a year from now.

Funny thing, I just finished reading The Stand by Stephen King today and was reading about the book and found this " King talked about adapting it for television but was informed that the television networks did not 'want to see the end of the world, particularly in prime time.'"

I thought it was fantastic. I've always thought that AMC does a superb job with their original series, and the Walking Dead is by far at the top of my list. My only complaint is that the season is over already. Now my personal countdown to season 2 starts...

I like it a lot. Even though it totally derails from the comics, it's kind of a good thing because I like not knowing what's going to happen. 2nd season is scheduled to have 13 episodes rather than just 6. Woohoo!

I think that with only six episodes, they had to shove in a lot of story in half the time a regular season would have. I feel like they can learn a lot from this first season.

A person I know wrote the episode "Wildfire", was it any good?

Also, I only saw the pilot and I am starting to read the books. Of what I've seen, the show is great piece of work. All of AMC's shows are great.

I didn't even know it WAS a comic, definitly need to keep an eye out next time I'm in a book store.
I'm only up to the 4th episode, but so far it is extremely awesome. I have always thought that Zombie stuff was sevrely lacking in good writing and then this show comes along. I LOVE IT!

It's a good show, I actually the Shane character for the most part. In the book he was very shallow and we had no real motives or idea of the extent of him and Rick's friendship.

like the way the "Vatos" are completely forgotten. They had food and safety enough to keep all those old people alive, sure it wasn't the best place, but with the addition of their group and guns it might have been safer.

Other stuff is annoying in universe, if they'd had proper warning from Jennar they could have stripped the bunker of food, medicine guns and ammo the first night.

Well they'd gotten complacent, they had the cans and had only seen one zombie up there (which should have been fair warning).

One thing that annoys me is the size of their convoy, yes another car is probably more practical than the one campervan they had in the comic. But five? They should split the petrol and spare parts between 2-3 cars a most.

I just wish they would stop putting pictures from this show up everywhere. Whether or not the show is any good, those zombies are terrifying and disgusting looking.
