Upon hearing the word "fight" Gio hopped slightly and began to run faster. He was soon right on the tail of H.W.

" Mr. Smi- Err H.W.? Is there anyone we should be afraid of? I mean when you say fight, you don't really mean bullets and blood, more like an arguement with someone waiting for us right?"

"Well, I'd rather not stick around to find out," Conner mentioned, adjusting his sword to run comfortably with, "but any fight where I don't have the element of surprise is a bad fight."

"Element of suprise ain't how I work. I'm either not spotted at all, or I'm fighting back."

Emerson scratched his head.

"I usually start fights by getting spotted."

"By "fight", Mr. Napa, I do, in fact, mean the kind with machine guns and cannons against a few pistols and maybe a rifle, for you see..."

He was interrupted by a loud sound, which caused everyone to turn around. Through the open rooftops of the Krupp-Spandau factory, large contraptions slowly drifted upwards.

They were, of course, zeppelins. Steam engines powered the many propellers which helped the ship move a lot faster than they did in the beginning. Now, they could easily outpace horsemen and foot troops.

They were, of course, heavily armed. At least 24 Spandau machine guns covered the sides, front and back of the aircraft, supporting the 4 Krupp cannons which could tear whole platoons to pieces.

"...We better get the bloody hell out of here before they approach." He turned around, facing the desert.

It was still a fair distance away, but they could probably make it yet. He almost ran towards it, his walking pace now as quick as possible, not wishing to get caught in Zeppelin fire again.

"Well this adventure's already off to a good start," Conner muttered, keeping pace with Henry. "How much farther til we're not worried about those anymore?"

H. W. didn't even stop to make an assumption. Instead, he chose the far simpler answer.

"Over the first few dunes and we should be fine. If we walk quickly, we'll be there before the Zeppelins will even notice us being here."

One of the large airships was already turning their way. At least a dozen propellers could be seen from it's aft, spinning slowly, moving the ship forward at a slow, walking pace.

Seeing H. W. turn around, Conner followed suit and glanced at the zeppelin. In awe of such a large machine, he had to force himself to keep walking instead of just stopping to stare. I really hope we never have to fight one of those, he thought as he kept walking.

He heard the conversations that he'd been listening to die off abruptly and with a quick turn of the head he saw why. Over his shoulder, though luckily too far away at the moment to spot them, was a giant air ship that was turning slowly towards them.

"Oh shit." Beau saw the air ship at the same time as the rest of the group and he knew as well as most that those Zeppelins were not something that he wanted to see.

Rufus had turned with the rest of the group to look at the lighter-than-air flying machines.
"Ah, Zeppelins! Aren't they a marvelous sight? Great feats of engineering! Why, my family has some stock in some of those companies." He noticed nobody else seemed to share his enthusiasm about seeing the majestic aircraft.

"What? Is that bad? I'm sure they'd be more than willing to give us a lift if we told them who we are, wouldn't they?"

" Have you been listening?" Gio asked Rufus.

" Alright I can tell you are from privileged stock so let me break it down for you, that Zeppelin is looking for us, if it finds us then it will try to kill us, it will use those giant machine guns, to make sure your face has more holes in it that a sieve." He told Rufus in a slow condescending tone.

"Easy," Conner shot. "He's from higher up, used to getting most things handed to him. We just... need to teach him it's not like that anymore. It's gonna be annoying, but if he has that 'silver tongue' the nobles are said to have, I'd rather put it to good use than just put one in his head. As for you," he turned to Rufus, "I say we operate on the idea that Henry knows what he's talking about."

"Can't one of you just shoot it?"

Emerson held his arms out, turning to the others, as if to receive a sort of applause for his amazing idea.

"What? You could shoot it, right? Right?"

"You could shoot it?!?" Beau replied incredulously. "Are you mad, look at the size of th'ick thing, you wouldn'a make a dent! Just keep moving."

Just in case anyone was wondering, I got bored and decided to change my username.

"If we got lucky, we could shoot it in just the right spot and hit a critical spot in the engines, causing it to go down in a fiery blaze," Conner sarcastically explained, "but we'll be in range of their weapons long before they're in range of ours."

"Actually, if you even hit it, and it does not have an armoured-envelope, most zeppelins have armoured gas-tanks. Couldn't go around with the old gas-bags. They fray too easily, release gas, then a single spark, and the whole contraption comes down" Rufus said, as if explaining something to a child, getting back at them for earlier.

"Marvelous machines! Still, I wonder why we would have to worry about being spotted by them..."

"It's a zeppelin. A zep-pelin.", Emerson droned, trying to get across his point, "What's not bad about being spotted by one?"

Emerson tinked with his sword, an act of boredom.

"Can we get going? Like, fast?"

Henry turned around, slightly annoyed this time. "Alright, lads. I know we'd like to argue our hearts out right here and some of us might want to take a gander what the zeppelin looks like and what the view is from down there. "

"Now, unfortunately, this expedition of ours isn't sanctioned by the Guild of Tradesmen and Adventurers or any government institution, apart from, of course, the Highest Authority of the Land. I hoped to keep that quiet, but there it is. Since they have lists of all people leaving and entering the city, and I don't doubt that we're not on it, I suggest we get a move on before they catch up and think we're raiders."

He looked at the zeppelin. It was nearing quickly and they were, no doubt, spotted by now. He pictured the large artillery turning towards them, while men get in their places and aim the machine guns down.

He resumed walking towards the first dune, which was not very far away now.

" Wonderful! Now not only are we going to be killed by a blimp but our loved ones will hear we were raiders," Breer said with an exasperated sigh, " the pay had better be as good as you say H.W.

"Anyone remotely considered one of my 'loved ones' would laugh at the idea of me being a raider," Conner noted, "and wonder why I got tired of the easy work that pays well."
