While several of the conflicts featured in the Battlefield series are historical (World War 2, Vietnam), the battles depicted within 2, 3, BC, BC2 and 2142 are evidently fictional, from the "near future of 2007" to the next century. I was wondering though - does the war between the US/EU vs. Russia vs. China/MEC depicted in the latest several count as one big war, or are we seeing two separate conflicts? Did the USA declare peace with China and the MEC in order to focus on Russia, do you think? And why are we even fighting these people? I started playing Battlefield in 2005, and yet I still have no idea why.
