a pistol - any game - it's always my weapon of choice but in some games it's very underpowered for the stronger enemies so it's almost worthless

shotgun - for any and all horror games - i'm jumpy as hell when playing a horror game and the shotgun helps me alot, i'm even jumpy when not playing a horror game, if something just pops out of nowhere i shake and shoot as fast as i can.

the ripper from UT.
Who doesn't like saw blades that you can bounce around corners?
And if you want to get overpowered, the Ion painter.

Lincoln's Repeater in Fallout 3.

Who'd think, in a game with Plasma rifles, Mini Nuke Launchers, Alien laser weapons, and the damn Tesla Cannon, that an old lever-action, muzzle-loading rifle from the 1800's would be the most reliable weapon in a tight spot.

I will never forget sniping 3 raiders from across a lake. 3 shots, 3 sneak-attack crits, 3 kills.

Beautiful.
That gun truly rocks. Bloody Awesome

Halo: Combat Evolved- The Pistol (you could kill in well placed shots)
Halo 2 and 3- The Battle Rifle (The three round burst quickly eliminated enemies)
Half-Life 2- The Gravity Gun (anything and everything is a weapon)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare- The silenced G36C (quick and rather efficient)
Call of Duty: World at War- The M2 Flamethrower (clearing out a room filled with enemies)
Team Fortress 2- The Shotgun (about half of the characters have them and they are pretty good)
