The Week in Review

Global warming is melting the polar ice caps and the influx of cold water will cause the seas to rise, devastating our society. Still, could be worse: you could fall behind with The Escapist's news.

Seven Kill Streak: Shiva Unlocked

You know how it is, when you spend a long time making something, you feel like you should use it, even if it's more of a hindrance than a help. This strange quirk of the human condition explains so very much of our history: the Trojan Horse, Windows Vista and horrible Christmas sweaters. And now you can add Blizzard and Battle.Net to the list, because it turns out that StarCraft 2 will have something very much like LAN support, but it will have to go through Battle.Net 2.0, meaning that you will have to have at least some internet connection to get it to work. Sounds like a compromise that we can all live with, because who doesn't have an internet connection these days? Everyone except hobbits and crazy people, that's who! I still think the Gabe Newell news takes the cake (no pun intended, for the love of god!) Nothing says "I'm a fanboy" more than signing up an overweight video game developer for a Victoria's Secret body image contest.

Oh and by the way...

I completely missed that Gabe Nowell story. Oh 4chan, what won't you do. The Starcraft 2 lan thing still makes me a very angry person though.

I said it before and I'll say it again: The Gabe Newel story gave me the jibblies (no offense Gabe).
Thankfully, the awesome Lego robot eased my disturbing shivers.
EDIT: I love these week in reviews. If you guys just started this, great idea. If you haven't, where the hell was I when this was going on? :p

I remember playing Star Craft through the wee hours of the night back in high school (class of '98). But mark my words that SC2 will be the biggest, lamest, most over-hyped and under-delivering pile of horseshit since The Phantom Menace.
Liam Neeson would like a word with you.

I wouldn't say that. Easily my Game of Show at BlizzCon. And Diablo 3 / Cataclysm were no slouches.
