My family is getting the Wii for christmas, there's no doubt about it. Since my father found out you can get Cruis n' USA on it, he wants it.

My only concern is that since my, his, and my mom's taste in games, are all fairly different, what games should we get to keep us all entertained, without us having to switch discs everytime Dad walks into the room?

P.S. Anyone who suggests Mario party or that Raving Rabbids game will be brutally injured or ignored

P.S.S. I am not an internet tough guy

P.S.S.S.
My mother likes puzzle games with pretty graphics, like Bejeweled.
My father enjoys games that are war based, he also likes driving and shoot 'em up games.
and I don't doubt he'll like Madworld.
I personally like games that use the innovativeness of the Wii. (Super mario galaxy, is a small example)

Any suggestions welcome, except the ones mentioned above.

Everyone thinks the wii is going to be amazing before they get it. The novelty wears off very quickly, and there arent many good games.

heres a suggestion...get an xbox.
Nah, i've never been a big fan of the Xbox. I'm a PC/Console gamer, so the games that come out on Xbox I just play on PC.

Mario Kart Wii seems to fit the bill.
I completely forgot about that game.
Good idea.

Somehow I don't think that your dad would be overjoyed with a Wii. Mad World might be appealing, but having played it, I'm personally not too enthusiastic about recommending that game to anyone. Go get every game developed by Nintendo, and World of Goo for your mom. Other than that, there's not a whole lot that I can suggest to you.

In fact,

might be the best suggestion for you. That or a PS3 (since motion controls are coming for all of them anyway).

Step 1: Buy some Gamecube Controllers and a Gamecube memory card from ebay or from your local game store.

Step 2: Buy Smash Brothers Melee, Metroid Prime/2, Resident Evil/0/4, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker/Twilight Princess, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader, Mario Kart: double Dash. All Cube versions (DO NOT BUY WII VERSIONS).

Step 3: Buy Metroid Prime 3, Mario Sunshine, No More Heroes, Okami, Mario Kart: Wii. In Wii versions.

That should be enough to keep you going for the time being.
Do not buy call of Duty anything for the Wii, trust me they ain't the asme as the ones on PC and console, they also suck hard.

My dad was actually very impressed with the Wii when my brother let us borrow it for a few days. I've played World of Goo, she might like that.

And as for a PS3.
Believe me, I love the PS consoles.
anyone that has MGS4 and God of War 3 is an idealistic person to be to me.
But my dad isn't that interested in that console.

Really? Your dad is into war games, driving games, and shoot 'em ups. And he takes the Wii? He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?He takes the Wii?

Sorry. That was just kind of... mind blowing given the genres that your dad likes.

If you don't like XBOX... get a PS3. I have to admit, Little Big Planet can help sell your parents on that. Plus with the new Katamari coming out..... I'm envious of you PS3 owners now...

He's always been a Nintendoboy.
he never got into Xbox or Playstation all that much.

and I was surprised too.
But since he played Doom64 and Turok on the N64, and he only used the Playstation for Dynasty Warriors, he never learned what Halo or Devil May Cry was.
(Thank god)

For dad: The Conduit, Madworld, No More Heroes, Metroid Prime Trilogy, SSBB, Mario Kart Wii
For mom: World of Goo, Mario Kart Wii, and Boom Blox(amazing game in my opinion)
For you: Whatever the hell you want.

If you didn't get SSBM, get Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

If you got SSBM, then SSBB will be so dissapointing for you.
why?
Because SSBM was, on the whole, a much better game than SSBB.

However, you'll hate SSBM if you play it, because it's really old, but Brawl is different.

Finally, if you have SSBM, you already know how to play, and are likely to be an established player as a character.

Seeing as the characters changed wildly in the transition, you will a) hate the gameplay (for me it was Samus's charge shot being made about a million times weaker) and b) will not be challenged, as most of the fun of the series is from learning how to play - if you already know, it feels very grinding and boring.
sounds fair.

Wow, just don't bother then. There is so much more you can do with ANY other console other than the Wii, I had a Wii for about a year and over half of that it was collecting dust. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 have for better games, graphics, game choices, well actually everything is better with them than the Wii.
I can't really tell too much about what to get because the Wii just doesn't have what you are wanting.
I sold my Wii and got a 360, best choice I have ever made in gaming
