So. The Witcher 2.
I'll leap right in here and say it's about the bug.
The bug.
You know the one.
The one where you can do nothing but run. Or look around.
No fighting, no inventory, no saving, no anything. Lots of nothing.
This has happened about 5 times during my game experience. And only the first time did it fix itself. 3 of the others I died and went back a bit, but once I had to re-do almost a whole hour of the damned game.
But the last 2 times have been during the boss fight. Where you fight the giant metal and wood demon. (I won't put in any spoilers, don't worry)
Each time I've got him down to almost no health and been so close to killing him, when BAM. I try to throw my grenades and it freezes me.
I have 60 Graphshot, and 50 mixed of others. I don't want to just not use them.
And this is all on Hard, so nyah.
Does anyone know how to fix this bug?

Tl;dr: BUG. CAN'T FIGHT. HOW ME FIX?

I think I've had this bug before, but in my case I can't attack or move the camera around, all I can do is run around like an idiot in fixed camera. Only way it ever fixed itself for me was I had to just let enemies club me around for a bit which would grant me full control again. I think opening up inventory and then exiting it fixed it once but that could have been a fluke.

So yea....only way I've "fixed" it is to be a temporary punching bag for enemies. Although that's a baaad idea when going up against the enemy you mentioned, especially on hard.

It usually resets once you get hit once. The best solution is to save often, IMO - you can die quick in this game anyway.

Got it a couple of times - I just quit out. But I also make it a habit of quicksaving every 5 seconds in RPGs after some annoying past experiences.

I got that dozens of times. It did not endear the game to me.

No idea how to fix it. I just ran Geralt's stupid arse around the battlefield until the controls woke up.

That's the same at what happens to me. Thanks for the idea. I'll give it a try.
Though apart from this bugging out, the only trouble I've had on Hard is when I play different characters without Signs or Dodge.
I R disappoint. And so I must ask, just how hard IS insane?

Yeah, Witcher 2 isn't actually that hard - just unforgiving. It's harder than every other major WRPG out right now, but that's not saying much. No difficulty setting is really hard if you plan ahead and use all your tools - insane is really just hard difficulty with perma-death.
