Hey, guys! Seeing as this is my first thread please go easy one me.
Okay, over to my problem.
A few days ago I reinstalled The Witcher and I have now downloaded all patches, and the enhanced edition.
The problem is that I can't connect to the login/registration servers, and seeing as the whole community on the witcher website is gone; I was wondering if anyone knew a way for me to install the enhanced edition and play my game?
Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing you have a version you install from CD's/DVD's right?

If you have a steam account, you could enter the CD key, and have the Witcher software run through steam. That's how I run the Witcher and I've never had a problem.

Ye, sorry forgot to mention that. I have a version installed from the DVD.
I never thought about trying to go through Steam.
Checking that out now.

The Patches are available for download from the site, just do it manually.

The problem is that I have to login to my user to apply the patch as it needs a 'registered' game.

Try contacting their customer support. Worked for me when I had a copy without a CD Key. (legit copy, but a number of Canadian copies weren't given a code)

Heh i'm going through the same thing. There are a couple of problems with this. If your English speaking..which im assuming you are 99% of the witcher support sites are either in polish or taken down with shiny hints and teasers for the witcher 2.

Also..(this is where i am atm) I have the original witcher dvd. Now. In order to upgrade to enhanced edition you need to DL patch. 1.4, then 1.5, and the english language pack. However...If you have windows 7 by default MS doesn't allow you to edit any files in the Program folder. I.E. transfering from standard to enhanced 1.4.

V1.4 is bugged bugged to all hell, 1.5 is the fix as well as the patch that removes drm and install problems with win7. Also You cannot install the english language pack without first upgrading to enhanced edition. And the english lanugage packs will only work with the enhanced edition. -_- I went through this viscious cycle for about 3 hours yesterday. trying differnt sites, differnt links (mind you these are NOT small Dl's either) I have essentially given up. And suppose unless i uninstall win7 i wont be able to play my game anymore =/

If ANYONE has gotten around this..PLEASE PLEASE explain how you did this. But for you.. GL.

This seems to be just one hump to get aroudn also, in my forums search for help i've read about soo many other issues with trying to install the game, alot of less tech savy complaints but some of it sounded pretty legit. Kinda sucks i really liked that game too.

Isn't it as simple as not installing it in the programs folder?
And after bugging around and finding a link to Twitter I noticed the remaking of the website, and hopefully It'll be online soon.
Thanks for the help tough!

EDIT: I had a link somewhere to a 1.5 version that had no install problems with win7. I'll see if I can find it.

Yea i've read that you can install directly to the C drive. But i also stumbled across a whole nother set of errors when doing so.. i just gave up. Just going to have to wait until the actual forums go back up again.

Read their website - they're overhauling the system and they'll be back up some time 'soon'.
