Hey guys,
The Witcher2 recently released the 2.0 patch (which from what I hear, changes quite a bit of the game) anyway, I haven't played the game all of the way through and I haven't played since about 2 weeks after launch and I was going to start a new character but I was wondering, does the import saves really change that much of the game or does it not really matter? I know you can find the saved games online but are they really game changing at all or are they more like Mass Effect2 where it only changes a couple of dialogue options.

From what I've seen they change even less than what Mass Effect 2. Other than a handful of throw away lines in a few situations you might not see and the starting gear/money, nothing changes.

It's more like Mass Effect 2s save imports; there will be passing references of your actions from the first game, but nothing that will change The Witcher 2s story in any significant way. They are each their own self contained scenarios with the ending of the fist game segueing into the second.

Additionally, importing a save DOES give you some sweet starting loot like Ravens armor and the Silver sword Aerondight from the first game. The best armor and sword from W1.

Aside from better starting equipment depending on what you had at the end of witcher 1 it doesn?t really change much, you?re actions are just referenced a couple of times and you might see Siegfried briefly if you sided with the order or get a small amount of money if Vivaldi got this bank back. Whether Adda is alive or dead is the only thing that had an minor impact on the plot but this was put across in dialogue and doesn?t change the game itself.
