Every day. I hear this word Every. Single. Day. Chances are, a fair amount of you use it yourselves on a regular basis. And for whatever reason, its "modern day use" that I'm sure you are all aware of, is starting to get on my nerves. It seems wherever you go people are ready to jump on the FAIL!! bandwagon whenever someone makes a mistake. And I mean ANY mistake.
Kid misses a catch while playing ball? FAIL!
Someone mispronounces a word? FAIL!
Even if someone's OPINION doesn't seem to match that of the majority, you guessed it, it's a FAIL. What the hell? Am I the only one that's getting sick of such spontaneous mean-spiritedness being directed at things that aren't even worth pointing out these days? Funny thing is, 98% of the time I read/hear the word FAIL, it's not even directed towards me, yet it annoys me all the same.
And God forbid anyone should ever have to fall under the oppressing EPIC FAIL (OMG did he sai EPIC fail?? Dats like eleventy times as much FAIL!) Seriously, what happened to courtesy? As an assistant coach for my siblings' elementary track team, I hear kids shout this kinda thing at each other all the time, even to other kids that they obviously don't know well. (A word of advice, don't drop the baton.)
So what are your opinions on the phrase?
(P.S. If you don't feel the same way I do on the subject, then you're just a FAIL!)
