Well, the last three characters in TF2 hat haven't been updated are the Soldier, Demoman and Engineer. So when Valve eventually updates these three classes, what would you like, or think you'd like, to see them get?

For the Soldier, I think something involving his grenades is in order, as he already has them, but just doesn't use them. Maybe a different kind of melee weapon too. His Rocket Launcher is too specific to be replaced with anything else, so it would just have to be a different kind of rocket launcher is replaced.

For the Demoman.......I'm not really sure. He is really a niche' character.


As for Engineer, I think a different construction kit might be in order. Something like a specialty kit, where instead of the teleporters, sentry gun and dispenser, you have something like a radar dish that will highlight all spies, snipers and such in range of the dish on everyone's screen. Something like a barrier device too, where you construct its two ends, and in between them appears a barrier that can't be shot through, but only your team, and spies disgusied as your team can move through.

For the soldier... a hat that has a shaped charge on it... so he can headbutt the enemy to death instantly. with a big boom.
(Soldiers death is optional)

The Soldier should get the maggot's way out hand grenade. it does critical-rocket damage to anyone in the radius, and blows himself up. Either that or the demoman could have something like that.No idea what the engineer would get. I like the barrier idea, though.

And they should update all these classes at the same time, so that it doesn't end up like the scout update.

Sooo... many.... scouuts...... *shudder*

dont think a barrier would work.. while its a great idea, it could be used to exploit.

(change blocking important doorways for example)

I'm actually wondering about the "everyone go as updated class" thing with the Engie.

I think they'll do it for one match, then realise that those who don't play it normally both suck AND find it dull.

OT:

Soldier: How about a rocket held by the fin as a melee weapon? random chance of massive crit explosion! Probably not...

Engie: I dunno, I reckon they'll keep the buildings like they kept the spy kit

Demoman: they'll bring back that dynamite roll from the beta, like a short-ranged clusterbomb

For the shield/blocking field, it would block ALL fire not just enemy fire. Neither BLU or RED could shoot through a BLU or RED shield, but only a teammate of the same team or a disguised spy could actually MOVE through it.

And the dynamite thing sounds like a good idea too - I'd completely forgotten about it until now.

I think the Engineer should have a wrench that builds things twice as quick, but does 50% less damage to enemies.

Ooo, the Demoman should have a really big bomb, like the one in the Payload maps. He only gets one per-life, but it makes a REALLY big explosion.
Probably be exploited somehow, but it'd still be good for a chuckle.

No idea about the Soldier. Maybe calls in an airstrike or something? I dunno.

That's ridiculously unbalanced. The normal Rocket Launcher would have no place in play anymore.
